New Loading/Splash Images (and other cool post-apoc art)

Working on these at the moment, what do you think? FEEDBACK PLEASE!! Thank you :clap:

I would adjust some of the text positions (not to far in the middle, or too close to the edge) - I also think the text should all be white, with only the words "loading or please wait...". Keep it simple IMO...
 
These all look pretty good. I still favor the B&W nuke photo over the bright color one, as it has a more "retro" look in the style of the Fallout games. I would like the "title screen" image better if you removed the rest of the remaining text at the bottom and rewrite it as "Post Nuclear Adventure Game" so that it fills the entire width of the sign.

Optional would be best...some people still prefer the originals. Those ridged bastards...:P
 
Sduibek, do you want me to upload better quality versions of these screens? I assume you procured these by taking screenshots? This seems to have had a big impact on the quality, hence the pixelation...

This is an archive that contains the 8 images from your last image link post. Sorry they're not in .RIX format, but they are bitmaps, so as I understand it you can convert straight from there.

Hey Ghouly I took those images and added the LOADING...and PLEASE WAIT...text. They are now RIX splash screens, ready to be placed into the game - (the names need adjusting). The quality of the images isn't all that great, but it will do.

Hey, I did the best I could with the movie frame dimensions (432 x 320), some exploitation of Windows XP's image viewer, and Photoshop. I'm sure you could do better, but I don't know of any other way ;)

Very good! The only thing which grabbed my attention is that the "Loading..." looks a bit too flat. Compared to other Fallout loadingscreens, the text is abit "embossed", with shadows, or how would you call it..

I took Pixotes example and added the Loading... on the left, on how I'd think it looks better. Ofcourse, that is incredibly nitpicky and can be ignored, as just a matter of preference. ;)

Not at all, nitpicky is good. Something like loading screens that everyone is going to see, needs to be a style / quality that will be enjoyed as universally as possible :)

Heh, allright. I can do the same for all the other ones too if you want, if you have them packaged somewhere? Above link doesnt work for me. :/

Go for it...it saves me the trouble... :mrgreen:

Take the Photoshop file and make the changes there...I've adjusted some of the images, their curves, and levels, so just adjust the text as you see fit. You might as well adapt some of the Fallout 2 splash screens as well. :salute:

Ok, I'm on it. The one with the red "Now Loading" - is this intentional that it's in there? Cause, you know, it already has "Loading..." ;D I can remove the red one with a tool and replace it with the red text though. Also, I am quite confused, as the font you use is the same that I use, but the space between each letter is bigger then in mine.
 
Just grab all of the Fallout 2 splash screens and use them as templates...add the typeface to the new images. It's up to you, the LOADING and PLEASE WAIT... are close copies of a Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 screen. Use the actual font I gave you and make whatever adjustments you feel comfortable with.

I just copied the layout from 2 of the originals, but there are several different types...

Ah ye, I thought you alreay prepared them in the .psd, thats why I was confused. ;) Ok, will upload the screens soon then. :)
 
I just had a thought... the feedback for the ones I was working on earlier in this thread was hit and miss. So i'm going to post up all the images I was working on or wanting to work on, and Pixote and Surf you can go wild and make something awesome out of them. Deal? :D

Ideally I'd like to see all of them used. I know some of them aren't universally liked, but I think the GURPS one, the DeathClaw one, the one with jumpsuits & zombies (Fo1 install background) and whatnot would make awesome splash screens, even if only a couple people end up digging them :mrgreen:

EDIT: A few of them were from DeviantArt or other such sources, so please don't use or post these images elsewhere without getting the ownership information from me. Thank you.
