New screenshots from Fallout 3 site

Another little thing that bugs me about the Pipboy is the integration of Xbox references (RT/LT/A/X) into something that is supposedly a product of the gameworld. To me that's just as bad as NPCs that reference the game interface, and definitely not something the self-proclaimed "immersion masters" should be integrating.

Why would they be publishing outdated screenshots at a stage when they have a mostly final version already?

I'm afraid they are, Ausir. These screens are from the last demo rounds, which already makes them outdated - they're not from "2.8a"

Bethesda likes to regurgitate material and squeeze out the maximum hype, so screenshots go from being posed and taken, to being photoshopped, to being approved by PR, to hitting magazines, to hitting sites, to hitting the Bethesda site. There's a lot of time there in between A and B.

I wish they released some real new material and in game movies.
Show us up to date material dammit!

Some of the stuff like downtown DC looks surprisingly much like City 17.

Wanna place bets on the PC version of the game having the exact same xbox button images left in it?

Seeing that pipboy screen has almost undermined all hope that I had that the game wouldn't just be a shitty port to PC from a console game.

i wish there was just one little bit of news that would make me go "hey...i think i actually might want to BUY this game...". i keep waiting for that moment.

i look at the title "new screenshots" and say to myself "maybe THIS time, eh?"

well, at least this time there was no shiv to the kidneys, though these three shots gave a hearty "MEH" from my lips.

I hate the first picture of the "Exploding Super Mutant".

But I like the one of the PipBoy3000, it looks "Falloutish".

Megaton, looks more of the same...

Note the ease-of-use Stimpak interface, too. Xbox controllers make it easy!
I like that too. Everything has a single button press associated with it so even the simplest of simpletons can enjoy Fallout 3. Maybe there's a WIN button as well.

"Crippled head" may sound funny, i don't know, i don't speak english that well ... But i guess what it means is that this particular part of the body sustained heavy damage and this fact have some impact on the characters efficiency/skills. So with crippled leg you'd move slower, with crippled arm you'd have hard time handling weapons and use doctor or repair skills, crippled eyes would seriously influence your perception. Now with "crippled" head you might have brain shock, broken skull or whatever. It wont kill you but translates to severe penalty to all skills.
Your English is fine - "crippled head" sounds completely retarded to a native English speaker, believe me. I think you're right, though, with regards to what they're trying to convey - maybe the character has a concussion, some sort of head trauma, etc. It's just that Bethesda chose to represent it in a stupid way. "Help! My head's crippled!"

Also, did anyone notice that there are no separate health bars for head and eyes ?
Well, as far as I know, you can't target the eyes in FO3, so I guess there's no real need for an eye health bar. As for a head health bar, it seems like when any part of your body is crippled, it doesn't display the health anyway, only "CRIPPLED". From what I've read, scoring a critical hit to the head can cause blindness, but if that's what Bethesda means, they should say "BLINDED", not "CRIPPLED".

Yep, practical but annoying at the same time.
