There is supposed to be some sort of bleeding perk...we will see .maximaz said:Looks good but I'm not very excited about the combat here. The whole dual wielding seems cool when it comes to magic but the actual melee fighting is straight out of Oblivion, save for finishing moves that always end up being annoying, unless there are dozens of them and they are optional. I was hoping it would be more complex in some way. At least, if slashing someone's flesh left cuts and damaged limbs or something, it would be somewhat more engaging.
First off, lets just get this out of the way. Skyrim is Oblivion 2.5. While there are slightly better graphics and a really fancy new map (which was admittedly cool, but the only thing in the entire demo that piqued my interest), the combat and game play is still absolutely Oblivion.
Frankly, Skyrim is Oblivion with dual wielding… And dragons. That’s about it. This was something I was afraid of. The same herpy derpy combat from Oblivion makes its hideous return and while some vistas look pretty sweet, there were a lot of otherthings that looked really plain. The scuttlebut at the convention about Skyrim was that the settings for the demo were turned way down, because the engine simply cannot handle the game and that some Id folks have been called in to help fix Skyrim to get it ready for launch in November. Whether or not this is true is neither here nor there, but this game did not impress me in the least.
Yes, you can wield a sword in one hand and magic in the other… That is the new feature that they touted in the game… FOR 35 MINUTES. To make matters worse, when the Dragons finally showed up at the end of the demo, the fight was such a bore, with the minor exception of a dragon crashing into the round after taking some damage, that I couldn’t muster enough energy to care.
Wow, only slightly better graphics! This game may be shit in the end,but the graphics are definitely a major improvementmaximaz said:This dude pretty much confirmed what I suspected:

so it seems they remove the part most people loved about Oblivion or called at least "quality writing" (not that I was impressed, just saying).Courier said:I heard the Dark Brotherhood won't be in Skyrim which is a shame, that was the best series of quests in Oblivion IMHO.
