Okay, they're Alpha, okay that they perhaps do not look as nice as the graphics of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (do remember, this was probably just an example of the engine).
But all of this leaves me very sad and repeat myself to the millionth time "Damn you Herve! Damn you straight to hell!"

ogm here is my opinion:
when people say the interface is ugly i think it's because it's just so cluttered there's just SO MUCH INFORMATION on the screen at once with so many different buttons to press at once part of a good interface is streamlining balance access to function without overwhelming blabla. the way the interface is now, it'd be impossible to fit all on the screen in the native fallout 640x480.
ok and the graphics one of the things i've wondered especially you see in these screenshots NO GORE. it'd be interesting how to handle that well in 3d without it looking like lego blogs flying on the screen. obviously in these what you say "PRE ALPHA" stage, 3d gore giblits and various ways to disform bodies is the least of concern, but still....

I laughed at "communist insurgent". But I thought that the power armour was truly, truly beautiful. The world is a cruel place, to taunt us so, with promises of what could have been.

Somehow, I prefer the 2D of Fallout instead of 3D. Those just look plain fugly. Even in 2002..or 2001...
I just had a quick look of the video and there are something I don't like: real time combat with rechargeable action point just like tactics, TOEE-like dialog system(no more talking window), no death animation (I want to see people screaming gruesomely when they get their body parts shredded by a minigun)
But still...it could be a kick ass sequel...or... maybe?

I don't want to "belong" here(whatever that means) by criticizing Bethesda. I was only surprised to see some are hoping for a good sequel to Fallout. (This is what my post was all about.) It is not going to happen imo. I may be wrong, of course, but the chances are very dim. And not because of the first person, real time combat or stuff like this, these things are only details. What matters the most is that the game won't be made by the original team. This is what was special about Fallout: Black Isle.
I believe it has been already discussed more than enough on this forum about bethesda, let's say...not handling the work too well. It would be pretty much useless to go on about this.

So depressing to see this, to love this, and then to know that it will never be what Fallout was prior to it being raped (FOT/BOS)... a game so good it made you forget what your pen*s was used for (but you remembered after words)
