New Vegas: Blood Ties

Tom ran in after Evan and Yasmin, "Jesus, leave some for me", Tom walked over to the fiend lying on the floor and raised his hunting rifle to his shoulder, ready to shoot the target. Then he realised, "Wait, wait, wait, guys, this guy could lead us to the other prisoners". Tom lowered his rifle down.

If they hadn't been attacked yet after that... less than controlled conversation then apparently there were no fiends this way, and it was becoming clearer the more rooms that GU-DR searched that there wasn't anything of value to scavenge here either.

And on top of everything his leg was itching. The blood was coagulating in a very irritating way on his leg, Jacob had a feeling that if he bothered to look his leg was probably caked with blood at this point underneath the bandages. He bent down and gave it a good scratch, which he promptly regretted when he dug too deep and pulled at one of the teeth punctures.

Thankfully Jacob as given a welcome distraction from the pain in the form of the resonating sound of gunfire. Jacob turned towards the door that led to all the office rooms and looked outside, barren as they had left it which meant the others had found fiends.

"I'm thinking this is a lost cause let's get back to the others. Sounds like they could use help."

"Sir, I have not finished scanning the rooms, I-"

"CHARGE!"
Jacob screamed in frustration.

"YES SIR!" the robot replied and shot through the hallway at a breakneck pace. Jacob followed at a much more leisurely jog, keeping off his leg as much as possible.

Evan shook his head and walked next to Tom. “He is no use to any of us.” Then he brought up his foot and brought his heel down hard on the fiend’s face, crushing it in and killing him. He took a second to take in the mess of blood and flesh under the ridiculous skull helmet fiends constantly wore and felt disgusted with himself before giving Tom a cold, hard look. “‘Leave some for me’? These are lives, not sugar bombs. Even if they are drugged out monsters, killing is not a pathetic child’s game. Don’t be so revolting.” He turned and walked back out into the hall.

Yasmin looked at Tom and shrugged. “He kills to save people and he hates it. Always been moral and stuff. What can you do.” Then followed him out.

“I think it’ll be near here.” He muttered, wandering along, pushing open any closed doors until they came to a locked one.

Pawnsy chuckled to himself,Jacob's arguments reminded of Midas,of course Midas's part in the argument was nothing but moos and grunts."Suit yourselves" He said as Jacob left with his robot. Pawnsy looked around the room,he was still new to scavenging even after spending years in the wastes. He always considered himself spoiled in that respect, most of his years were spent in settlements or tribal camps leeching off the inhabitants. His short search turned up nothing but semi useful junk,a few empty bottles and a empty psycho syringe. "Well I'm sure the newly deceased will have better stuff." Pawnsy slowly strode off towards the gunfire as if he was walking to the corner store.

Brad looked around, now abandoned in an empty hallway. He had a feeling there was nothing of value here.

"Fuck this." he mumbled to himself as he followed Jacob and GU-DR. Eventually he reached the others wandering around and opening doors.

"Well, that was a bust. I'll bet you guys didn't even leave me a fiend with a mortal wound."

Evan glared over his shoulder after he examined the lock on the door. "What the fuck is wrong with you people? Is this just one big game to you? You're like a bunch of raiders." he looked at his sister and muttered "Ninguna ofensa."

She smiled. "Nada tenía. Need a lock pick?"

He stood up and moved back. "You do it. I get the feeling you're better at it than I am."

"Oh, don't you think I'm all about blood and murder. It's just... Heh... My heritage."

Tom chuckled to himself and looked up at Yasmin, "I've had more than enough experience with people like Evan to understand his morals will quickly fade away when it comes to a dire enough situation", Tom changed his view to Evan, "Revolting?", he grinned, "Make sure you don't fall off that high horse of yours'". Tom cantered forward, trying to catch up with Evan, he was about to start talking again, then a sudden pain hit his stomach, "Fuck", he whispered to himself, "Must be that fucking drink I had last night, oh well brought it upon myself".

David sighed as Tom argued with Evan. He turned to Yasmin and said,"What are we going to do if the prisoners are seriously injured? We don't have enough stimpaks, we only had enough drugs to get Evan back on his feet."

Pawnsy strode over to hear the last bits of conversation from the group. "If they're willing I know some tribal remedies, most of them work I just need Midas for 'materials'."

Evan gave Tom the finger then smiled as Tom complained about his stomach. "Exactly. What kind of idiot drinks bottles he finds lying in the front door of a fiend base?" The bobby pins were rusty and fragile, so the lock was giving him trouble, but he almost had the sweet spot.

Yasmin smiled at Evan. "Despite his dislike of people killing each other like it's a game, as you can clearly see, my brother here has my temperament.” She looked at David and was about to say ‘good point’ then Pawnsy mentioned his alternative. Yasmin laughed. “I don’t think their ‘willingness’ comes into it. There is a good chance they are half dead and we’re saving them, they’ll get what they are given.

The lock clicked and Evan stood up, turned the handle in pushed. The door to the dark room swung open.

David slowly walked into the room, and said,"Anybody in here? Could you come into the light, I can't see a thing in here?"
David stood still and waited for a reply.

Eric could hear people on the other side of the door.

'Aw shit what are they going to do to us now?'

A few seconds afterwards, people that didn't look like fiends walked in with guns raised.

'I sure hope you don't plan to shoot us. Me and the others here got nabbed by the fiends one way or another. My names Eric but I would prefer to do more conversating after being un-bound'

David moved towards the voice. He crouched down, and felt a shoulder. He moved his hands down to where the other persons hand should be and felt some rope. He pulled out his knife and said,"Stay still, I'm going to cut the rope."
The knife cut threw the rope after a few seconds and David moved down to the legs, to see if there was anymore rope. After seeing there was, he cut those as well.
David looked around. His eyes had started to adjust to the dark, and he could see others. He would go to them after checking this guy was ok. He asked the man,"Are you injured?"

Crandall had to shut his eyes as the door quickly opened, the light partially blinding him. First off he had the feeling the newcomers weren't the Fiends who had been holding them, he thought he had heard the muffled sound of the door being picked.

His eyes still closed he chanced calling out as one of them untied the over optimistic one, "Lil help over here?", as he raises his bound arms.

As soon as teh door opened Mathias quickly launched hismef backwards, his back fiercely to the wall just next to the filling cabinet and turned his head to te new visitors and felt a little relaxed.
"Y-you don't have brahmins on your heads....".

'I'm doing ok, for being a fiend prisoner, hell I could have been a lot worse off'

With the rope gone, Eric was able to use his hands again. Having been behind his back for days, it felt good to move them in another direction.

'So what outfit you folks with anyways?'

Jacob caught up with the group and entered the dark room. David had begun cutting the ropes that bound the prisoners and Jacob walked in behind him. Jacob held down a button on his Pip-Boy and turned on the light, then held it so that David could better see what he was doing.

"No need to go cutting off something important by mistake." Jacob chided.

"So what outfit you folks with anyways?" the prisoner David had cut free asked.

"No one. Far as I'm concerned this is freelance. We came here to get a brotherhood guy, turns out he wanted us to come get you next." Jacob turned so he could yell out the door. "Hey! Bolts for brains, get in here and untie these guys." Jacob ordered, and GU-DR dutifully entered the room and headed over to a prisoner with scars on his face (Mathias).

"Hold still while I free you from your bonds!" The robot said as it got to work untying the prisoner.

After getting his hands free Mathais stood up and started shaking them quickly, the numbness went away quickly, looked at the robot and at his saviors and asked "Did you happen to see a motorcycle outside?".

After his bounds are cut Crandall slowly stands up, his joints popping as they are fully utilized for the first time in weeks. He rubs his wrists where the rope had bound him, the skin still raw, he'd have to take care of that as soon as he could, maybe after he found his kit.

He nods as the other prisoner asks about the motorcyle and adds "You haven't happened to run across a large amount of gear laying around have you? I've got a few things I'd like back". While asking this he did eye the Mr. Gutsy with suspicion, as he had shot more than a few in his journey west and this was the first he had seen that wasn't shooting at him.
