Nuka World: No Review Possible

And when the Sole Survivor encounters Father, they does not find an advanced technological Institute but a decayed ruin long abandoned and a corpse that reveals the truth to the Sole Survivor just as the hallucination of Father appears to confront him:
"The truth, Sole Survivor, is that you're here because you wanted to feel like something you're not; a hero."
Then, when the Sole Survivor makes ineffectual arguments to defend their actions (justifying the horrid dialogue system because a delusional man in denial would be unable to argue or even speak out against the cold hard truth) Father simply states, "I'm here because you can't accept what you've done. It broke you. You needed someone to blame, so you cast it on us - a dead institute."
Maybe too much like Spec Ops the line?

The quotes are from Wikiquote so my post would be too much like Spec Ops The Line. More competent writers would be able to do something with the concept though, a deconstruction of Fallout 4's gimmicks and characters.

Yeah but I like the idea. Maybe have his son dead at the very beginning though you don't find out at the end? Would turn around the 'twist' in FO4's story. As the narrator breaks down and sees things as they actually are and when you visit the vault you find the dead body of your wife and Shaun cradled in her arms.

This thread has gone from, how shit Nuka World is, to how shit Fallout 4 is in general, to whether or not we should archive Fallout 4, then to whether or not we should make fun of Bethesda employees, and then to a fanon Spec Ops/Fallout 4 mashup (that would've been infinitely better than the thing we got).

I can imagine the world of the Commonwealth being grounded in poverty, chaos and hate where bandits, super mutants and the Sole Survivor are feared and hated. Imagine DUST, but the world began to fall apart thanks to the Sole Survivor.
And in the DUST canon, The Courier is higjly related to the cataclysm; after completing the MQ for the NCR or Independent, he was accused falsely by the NCR of some of the atrocities they were doing; waking up the Tunnelers, spray Vault 22 spores, nuking at the end of LR, freeing the Cloud, etc.
Thus, he was hated by everyone and he retired to a cave in the dried out Lake Mead, and eventually became ghoulified and sorta insane.
Apparently, a lot of people and things tried to kill him, and it is possible that he killed Follows-Chalk when he was asking for help.

Damn it, fuck the NCR! This is why we need the Legion, they wouldn't have tried this shit.

But seriously, I can imagine the sole survivor causing a DUST like scenario in an epic, misguided and rampaging quest to find Shaun, who's death he can't comprehend.

I'm almost certain that Naugrim will place the Sole Survivor somewhere in his story for FROST

And i don't know what happened to the Legion, as The Fort was added in the last update. My guess is that they completely dissolved into small groups after Caesar's death and the defeat at Hoover Dam. We see some wandering Legionaries and there is a camp at the old Cottonwood Cove, now Aurelia

Yeah but honestly I like the idea of the game being a dream, or epic tale before it falls apart and shows the terror and shit the Sole Survivor has created in the aim of being a hero.

Why am I not surprised that they're not fleshed out in the original game and in DUST.

Wouldn't mind a DUST style mod that adds a slight green haze wherever you go, and frequent full on rad storms from the glowing sea. Tons of ghouls, ferals that don't sprint like L4D zombies, hazmat suits/gas masks are a necessity etc.

EDIT: maybe to try and find the Institute the SS used the Chinese submarine to level all of Boston, meaning no more skyscrapers and maybe a second glowing sea.

Are you are talking about Fallout 3? I got sick by that color filter, i needed the Fellout mod to not watch green when i closed my eyes

As i said, they must have their spot in The Fort. To be honest, what could the Legion really do in the Post-Post-Post Apocalypse?
