Nuka World: No Review Possible

Who the fuck lit that fire?
Feral ghouls?
The ghoul magician? (Bethesda dropped the ball on this one, should've called him the Magighoul, they love silly names for things)

Does this mean that Fallout 5 is confirmed? Better tell Matty, he'll make a video or two (or thirty) on it.

They had a ghoul kid walking around right as rain after being stuck in a fridge for 200 years, there was the whole DLC/mods debacle, and now fucking paddle balls and squirt guns are being passed off as weaponry.

You would think this is rock bottom right here, and it couldn't possibly get any worse at this point.

Then again... never say never.
You know when you see someone with an incredible skill, some kind of genious? ANd you think, woha! How did he do that? And they manage to surprise you again and again?

Guess what, the same can be done in the oposite direction as well :/. Let us see what Fallout 5 will be like ...

It's gonna be hilarious watching Bethesda attempt Meaningful Choices and Consequences™. No, I wouldn't be surprised if they branded it like that. With some carefully worded PR talk about how impactful your decisions are.

"I feel like they put a lot of effort in this one"

Holy fuck people are easy to impress.
Welcome to the Bethesda target audience; they can dangle keys in people's faces and the fans will call that "IMUHSIVE ROLEPLAYIN"

If it's not possible for you, can I borrow the format? I have some things to say about Nuka World, after finishing side objectives.

Yeah... this would take about 5 minutes to make in the GECK.

He keeps going on about how much more impressive it is for being animated...

Ah, okay. I think I understand what's going on. This video is obviously an example of accidental cross-dimensional communication. This guy is quite clearly from the moron universe and through some glitch in the great cosmic mechanism, his video is able to be viewed on our Youtube. That's the only explanation.

This kinda looks like something a twelve year old added while the rest of the developers were off having coffee. The twelve year old was Todd's son, so they left it in.

Meh, don't like Dark Souls so I find this reference retarded.

It's retarded for many reasons, but you not liking Dark Souls isn't one of them. What does that have to do with anything?

Wait
In all things, they referenced the Bonfire. They could mention anything, weapons, armors, situations...
Oh
Maybe
That's how far they got :smug:

Probably. And also, Dark Souls has been referenced so many times before (including the bonfires) that this kinda feels like they just wanted to be part of the gang. And they couldn't even come up with a clever way to do it. Once again, Bethesda prove that they have next to zero inspiration and ideas of their own.

Why put up such a hamfisted reference when there are going to be people like me who aren't even into Dark Souls. It's not even subtle, it's a fucking burning sword.

Also, I'm guessing you like Dark Souls.

Yes I do, but that doesn't have anything to do with it either. Dark Souls is an extremely popular game series, which most likely several people at Bethesda enjoy. References like this are made to pay tribute to something you enjoy and to make others who enjoy it smile when they see and recognize it. Often they're funny, so that even people who aren't huge fans might still get a chuckle out of it. And I guess a big part of it is also the juxtaposition between the two franchises or what have you, and how the designers make them work together. I wasn't particularly impressed with the latest Inida Jones movie, and I still got a chuckle out of the reference in New Vegas for example.

Do you honestly expect only to find references to things you love? How would that even work?

Because the reference of a skeleton in a fridge works, why? Well last time I checked that happened in an atomic blast.... and fallout happened because of many atomic blasts...

What similarity does a Dark Souls sword have to Fallout. Please enlighten me.

None whatsoever, but as seen in the video it's a Chinese Officer Sword, which are prevalent in Fallout 3. But yes, it's a perfectly legitimate reason to criticize the reference to say that it doesn't fit thematically. But how many references in Fallout 2 fit in thematically? They don't necessarily have to. But back to the original point, that still doesn't have anything to do with you or me liking or not liking Dark Souls, does it?

Yeah. References are better when they're as subtle as possible. A reward for the keen of eye.
Also, maybe I'm just a little pretentious, but I prefer my references to be to things like literature, history and mythology.

I don't like many of the references in Fallout 2 anyway.

Actually yes it does, if I like the thing where the reference comes from and the reference is done well, I'm more likely to like it. IF I dislike the thing where reference comes from, I'm probably not going to like it.

Same here.
