Obsidian?

Holy shit these guys are idiots (not Chris). They're discussing whether or not Fallout 4 is a good Fallout game, and just when I think they're about to compare it to the original two games, they immediately start making comparisons to 3 and New Vegas instead. It was something along the lines of (this is in reference to the voice acting) "Is this the future of Fallout games? Because you have to look at it as, those games were made for last gen, whereas this game is made for current-gen. So maybe this is the future of Fallout, and that's not a bad thing". And then they go on to praise the voice acting even more.

I feel bad for linking the video. I should have kept quiet about it. No one deserves to watch MrMattyPlays for 2 hours, not even my ex.

On the bright side, it sounds like you're getting a better understanding of what makes people who like Fallout 4 tick.

Oh I know what makes them tick, I used to be one of those people when the game first came out.

Ah, you too? Yeah, before Fallout 4 came out I thought Bethesda could do no wrong. They were the next Nintendo in my eyes. (who, for the record, is still my favorite video game company) Aaaand then Fallout 4 came out and broke my little heart and I've sworn never to preorder a game ever again no matter who makes it. I wish I could go back in time to October when I preordered the game and slap the shit out of myself.

Oh god...I want to die. I really want to die now. MrMatty just said something along the lines of "Fallout 4 is one of those games that I really liked at first, and then as time went on it's flaws started to show, and people began picking the game apart. But then I realised, fuck what they have to say, I really like this game."

Just forced myself through the first hour, probably will watch the rest tomorrow (god, what's wrong me?).
Got me thinking, though, I'd love to see an NMA interview with any of the original/NV devs. Or maybe...
What do you guys think our chances of getting an interview with Todd or Emil are?

Of them getting an interview with Todd/Emil, or us getting an interview with them?

Actually that's a good point. If Mattyboy can get an interview with Chris Avellone, why can't we, the actual Fallout fanbase, get an interview with him? I bet he'd do it if we're polite.
Man, I'd make my own podcast just to do that, and everyone would listen just to hear my succulent voice.

Please summarize when you finish or link to the good part (not plural, I'm not hopeful)

This x 1000, but who would do it? Only one person preferably.

Well it would need to be someone who liked Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas, since those are the primary ones he worked on. Don't really want someone interviewing him who hated Fallout 2 considering Fallout 2 was practically his baby, so that would be a bad idea. As a bonus, the person to interview him should really have read the Fallout Bible beforehand so they kinda know what goes on in Avellone's head when it comes to the first 2 games. I wish he'd do a Fallout Bible on New Vegas.

EDIT: If we're genuinely serious about this, maybe we could get Mr. Avellone on the NMA Podcast? Perhaps one of us could make a forum post asking people what sort of questions they would want to see asked. It could be fun for everyone and we could really learn a lot. The main thing is having material to talk about Mr. Avellone with.

Well, I mean, I could always do that. I haven't finished the Fallout Bible yet, but I've definitely made a dent in it. Plus, I loved Fallout 2.

Maybe we could set up something so people watching the interview live could ask questions through some kind of chat, and the interviewer could see these and ask Chris the questions? I've never done anything like that, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to do. Just a thought.

Yea, that's a pretty good idea. I mean, obviously have some predetermined questions, but having people ask live questions would be interesting for sure.
