OCC- Kilrick Salvage - Chapter 2 (on the road to New York)

APC- is the Greys. The Greys, from chapter 1, are the main enemies of the Greens, who we are working for.

The Greys APC is a sign that they are getting better weapons than the Greens and one of the reasons the Greens are losing the war.

Does it relate to the mission to New York? Maybe.

The APC has the edge on us, so do the troopers. These guys are combat armored, with state of the art assault weapons. Fairy new stuff- which is an odd find in the wasteland.

The armor can beat out most rifle fire. There will be no, tag the driver in the head, since the driver's head is in the tank. They would use the autocannon and machineguns on us before we got within rocket launcher range, and it would probably take more than a rocket to take out the APC.

On flat open ground, the APC has a clear advantage. In urban ground, or in dense forest, we might be able to get closer. But they have a squad of troopers acting as a screen. Note that the only urban territory happens to be maggotville.

Why have the Greys shown up now is also a worthwhile question.

This could be a really good fight.

Not only that, with the maggots swarming bellow us, the scent may attract them...

Interesting twist.

Reminds me of Saving private Ryan.

Ok, quick review-

I know Rama, Edden, Gally, Wolf, Jake, myself. Who are the other characters?

Not sure what to do with the Greys. The APC got damaged but it's not out.

ALso remember that as pissy as the Maggots are, their skin is light sensitive.

Well we can always do the cliched light weapons.

We got headlights, flashlights, and anything else we can rig up. However if its only natural light then we have to change our game plan.

How badly is the APC hit? If we can, I suggest we run for it before the greys bring in re-enforcements.

It's hurt but it's still moving. Moving well enough to get out of maggotville, get repaired and follow us.

The choice now is to finish it off or to let it follow. This is both a tactical and plotting choice.

Doubtful reinforcements will come within the next 24- 48 hours. Meaning our group will be gone.

That's the temptation. But this is a shared story.

Ok, I still need to know who is who. We have too much first person narrative and I am losing track of names.

I play Eric of course.

I second the idea of letting it go. Given our current situation, it is doubtful we could take out that APC. In some ways this is more realistic. I mean how we going to take out that APC with low rockets plus maggots swarming all over the damn place. I guess Eric is pretty friggin lucky to have only run into a lone maggot while he was making his way back to the rig.

Also as Karkow said, letting it go would give us more options into why its following us, future ambush/interrogation of APC commander, possible theft of APC, Grey operational plans, etc.

Ok, so the APC escapes.

I have printed that one up.

Now, those of you by the rig, if you have anything else to do, finish it up and pick up Kilrick and Jake. Then back up the mountain.

The turbine should becoming down and we can move to our next little adventure in Glutonville.

I plan to rid us of a few NPCs by then and from there we go to Jersey for our entrance into New York.

hi kidz ;)

welsh invited me in to rp with you lot too (im already in the FO: wasteland atm)

anyhow i've got a pretty good idea of the kind of character i'll be playing but first i'll pm welsh about it

i'd like to ask you guys a favor though. the kilrick thread is kinda chaotic, i'd like to know who's still an active character and what their specialities are. just really short reply by just one of you stating the other too will do:
for instance (from my wasteland character): Richard Anderson, dual wield pistols, repair & science.

thx

Im Eric Chang and hes pretty much the team sniper. More wouldn't hurt I don't think.

Eric has an M24 with 2 rounds left and an extra clip. He also has a Desert Eagle but he is down to only three rounds (traded ammmo away and old rifle for M24 and ammo).

Lastly Eric likes to read so he might end up getting mroe skills but hes mostly a soldier.

Got your PM and responded. I think we could meet a character in Gluttonville, and I would expect we'd be going there pretty soon.

Wolf: old dog, alcoholic and the teams field doctor. Appears to have some kind of formal education.

His weapons are a 44º magnum and a sawed-off double-barrel shotgun. But he prefers his grenades.

The years away from the field made him somehow insure of himself, but he’s slowly regaining his confidence.

I am Rama Stryfe Merc/mechanic and Ranger... I am not friendly and don't expect to get on my good side. Loyal, but is in it only for the money? Or is he?

Kilrick- Boss. I got the contract, I hire the sub-contractors. This is business, not personal. My job is to get something and bring it back. The pay, well, is the pay, but you got to come back to collect it.

I don't know what the situation concerning the bridges will be. The most important ones will be defended by either rogue factions or by common criminal elements looking for a quick buck.

Any suggestions?

I don't play anymore. It's too much surfing in the Net for me, I'm trying to decrease my time spent at my comp.

And, Welsh, you should have killed my character about a week ago :P

Ok, Rohan. Sorry to see you go. I have been cutting my time on the net as well and trying to get more real work done.

I'll see about killing off your character this week.

As for the bridges or ferry, each will have it's issues. Essentially, they vary in their distance to New York, but if you guys wanted a bit of control over the overall story, this is a good point for it.

We will be getting a new character fairly soon that should change our story a bit and give us a taste of what will happen in NY.
