OOC Chapter 3 Lone Wanderers

Ok, that means that we are missing Smar, Syphon and Rogue as regulars. They are off on vacation.

Fallout I have not heard from in awhile. Wasteland-Blade is out.

That leaves Gunslinger, Reapers, Sander and me.

Nice recent post Gunslinger.

Reaper and Sander, not sure what's going on with your characters at the moment.

Okay Welsh, about Gabe following, that makes sense. He wasn't hurt too bad and he knows Rogue is out there.

Things just got hectic this evening so I might not be able to post anything tonight.

If you want to keep things moving, I don't mind you posting Gabriel joining your group. However, I will try to get that done as soon as I can.

By the way, has any checked out my recent entry on Fan Fiction, entitled The Strip? It's about New Reno. I started it when I thought I would have more time on my hands - sorry that both writing that and posting here is getting difficult.

fear not. I am sticking with this.

Have a good one, all.

Ok Reaper- We will hold off posting much until you rejoin. After to you rejoin we will find Marcus and then proceed to the caravan.

Sander, not sure what you want to do with Pipboy. He might be with Ibis and nat or he might be overhearing the conversation with Hook and Reed. You're call. Feel free to play with these characters as you will to tell the story you wish to. There are lots of NPCs floating about that should help you develop the story you need. This is the opportunity for Pipboy to save the day.

Welsh, on request: make Ibis fall into a coma or a deep sleep next post. It has something to do with Ibis's purpose of leading Caleb through the river of death.

Well, it can be. I had been thinking of "offing" Ibis during the course of this story. At this point the only reason Ibis is really alive is that he has a prophecy to fulfill. After that....

However, at this point in the story, with the Black Death reaching its hands over the caravan, the incident with Marcus coming up and then meeting the Mexicans, it might not be time for Ibis to die.

Hhow about this? Ibis catches up to the caravan after a long day on the road, decides to nap out, and falls into a deep slumber. How many hours do we have to keep the old coot out for?

Just until night fall. After he gains consciousness, go ahead and kill.

See, here on Lone Wanderers, we care for our characters :D .

OOC- Reaper, not sure if you want to do some fighting or not, or otherwise play Gabriel as you have been absent for awhile. So I am going to cut this short and leave it to you as to where you want to take it.
Nice post Sander, looking forward to seeing what else you do with it.
Gunslinger- is this snooze of Ibis working or should we put him under later?

Rogue? Buffy? Smar?

In Greek Mythology, Charon is the ferryman who transports shades into Hades. Cerberus, the three headed dog, guards the path into Hades. I've read that Charon is depicted as either an old man or a winged demon. As a compromise, I've made him both.

Okay, welsh, you can kill Ibis now.

Gunslinger- Well you have done your homework. Also the Ibis is a bird from Egypt. It is also related to the Egyptian god Thoth, and relates to where a man goes after he dies. Thoth appears as an Ibis.

Don't know if this helps your story along any. So we got Ibis dealing with people when they die, Cerebus guarding the gates of hell.

Who says we ain't literate.

Alright, you write in nine pages of something about syphoning and then I'll give you your applause.

Until then....

*pockets applause*

Naw I really just named him Syphon because Syphon Filter is one of my favorites and I kinda always wanted my name to be Syphon. Even though, I dont like the meaning of it.

I'm having a bit of hard time to get back into the story...

*Rubs chin

The best way to get back into the story is to jump in.

We are in a ghost town, one of our number is about to get cut off, we are being surrounded by around 50 giant, regenerating monsters that could go toe-to-toe with a deathclaw. Our best chance is to escape quietly. That's a pretty good place to write.

Naw, Syphon and Gabriel stuck in the church tower...like the scene from Band of Brothers or Thin Red Line.

Whoa, whoa. I sent a PM to Welsh explaining this.

Gabriel was not waiting in the tower hoping to hold off the Trogs - he sent Syphon to wake up Grim and find out what he wanted to do. Gabriel only stayed up there because he is the only one who can see how far away the Trogs are - they are not on our doorstep yet. He can see them in the distance.

There was supposed to be ample time for Syphon to get to Grim, wake him up and see what he wanted to do, then come back and tell Gabriel.

I thought we had only stopped at the town because the whole team was too tired to run anymore - therefore I thought the evade plan was over and it had become a hope for the best, if not we fight plan.

Sorry that everyone got the wrong idea.

If we can escape, then Gabriel will go for it. He is an assassin, not a monster killer. He'd rather avoid an unecessary confrontation if possible. He may be a little arrogant but he is not insane.

No, no. It's not you.

If this can be edited slightly so that everyone realises that the Trogs are not going to be here for a while, like I meant when I introduced them to this particular scene, it should all work fine.

Pyphon can come to get Gabriel, tell him the others are pulling out through the sewers, Gabriel is very relieved because as I stated in my post, he was very anxious to avoid a battle, and Gabe and Syphon pull back with the others.

Simple.

I know Gabriel has a history of fighting the odds, but I was surprised that my words were misinterpretted. I did try to get across the idea that Gabriel didn't want a fight.

Welsh had said this bit was left to me and I thought I would introduce the Trogs but not make a battle the focus - we have fought enough so far. I wanted to tension of a possible coming battle to be the focus, hence no actual fighting in my post.

I added the coming Trogs as a cliffhanger and I wondered what other people would do with it.

So I suggest, we go back and try to fix it so that people don't overract and that the team executes a controlled withdrawal.

I think we are all back on the same page. Actually this isn't bad. Kind of typical for Gabriel really and a little confusion in this kind of writing is to be expected. No problems.

Besides, the rule of life is a simple one, "people fuck up and on a regular basis." In roleplay that makes it more fun.

I think I misunderstood Reaper's post. But this is going splendidly, so play on.

Ok, I have added a curve. Gabriel and Syphon are now cut off by the Trogs and will have to figure a way to get back to the others. I think this could be good for both characters. Have fun and good luck!
