Chapter 2 is almost over, and I think we can finish it up here in the next couple of months. Fearlessfred just let me know Thursday night that I can take his characters over temporarily, and Stompie hasn't posted in a while so I've already taken over his characters. You and SuAside have already posted, so I can go ahead and update. I'll do so early this afternoon, and I would have last night except I had to stay late at work unexpectedly. As long as you and SuAside post frequently, I can update twice a week from now on (and possibly more in late December/early January). At that rate we can finish up the chapter in short order. I think another 6-12 major updates (not counting this one) will do it, depending on how things play out.
 
(Luke just used his five shots for the coming set of five rounds, though I will count them against the runners. He only got one kill, but wounded three more. That roll of 12 damage went with the missed shot.

hmz, i thought i rolled an impale somewhere? must've matched the wrong numbers, i guess. (dyslexic... has happened before, as you have noticed)
He must still roll Sanity for seeing them. While he gets a +10 bonus, a roll of 100 will still fail. In the extremely unlikely event that he goes temporarily insane, his shots will get called back.)

+10 for this roll? he already has 99! ;)

so doesn't matter since 100 is failure regardless.
 
Yeah, with 99 Sanity the bonus doesn't matter. If he ever gets a penalty on a Sanity roll, it would affect him. The reason he (and others like Azadeh) got a +10 bonus on this roll is a secret, but Azadeh really needed it or she would have lost her mind.

Steve, if you post within the next seven hours or so I can update again tonight and possibly again tomorrow. We just might be able to get through the rest of the chapter by the end of the year.

This is the last update where you'll get five rounds. After that the zombies will start reaching the diner and we'll go to one round per update. Should get mighty interesting. I think you can take out the rest of the runners before they arrive, but there are still an awful lot of walkers left.
 
Great! I can update tonight once you've posted your characters' actions in the IC thread. Then, if both you and SuAside post again in the IC thread by early enough on Sunday night I can even update a third time this weekend.

I was looking at the thread for the weapons and locations and I noticed you have Lewis with 30 bullets in the M-4 but he has fired 5 times leaving him with only 25 bullets in it at present. Also I just had McCain reload his gun so he should have a freshly loaded one, 5 full clips, and 1 clip with 6 bullets left in it.
 
Thanks for letting me know, Steve, but Lewis really did only fire one shot. Before that he had 31 bullets in his M-4 (30 in the magazine, one in the chamber). The zombies were only in his full skill range for the last ten combat rounds. During those first five rounds he was temporarily insane and did not shoot. During the last five rounds, McCain killed the last of the walkers off and Lewis spent all but one round trying to spot the runners. He fired and missed during that last round, so he still has 30 bullets loaded. I'll adjust McCain's weapon list now. One of those 6 bullets remained in the chamber of his weapon, so the partial mag now has 5 bullets in it and he has 31 loaded.

I plan to update again late this afternoon (within the next 6 hours).

Don't worry, Kimberly and Azadeh do have a decent chance to survive. Moreso Kimberly, since she has 18 Dex and is at full HP, but Azadeh has a decent chance too if she can make it to the garage roof. And don't forget Zorie Spooner! She may actually be safer downstairs at the moment...

It's Willie who's in imminent danger, falling right in the middle of a group of zombies like that. But hey, the guy got a 100 on his Luck roll, so he bears the full brunt of Murphy's Law. Still, he's not hurt too badly and there are people nearby who can help him. Maybe he'll get out of this one without getting munched on...maybe...

(switching priorities back and forth between CoC & here, it's the best i can do atm i'm afraid. though i should soon have a bit of extra spare time coming up)
 
That's okay, take your time and post when you're ready. I want to wait a little longer to give Steve a chance to respond to my interim post anyway. Next major update should be Friday or Saturday. I'll have more free time coming up soon too, and we're getting close to the end of the chapter now. I'm not sure if we'll finish by the end of the year, but we'll almost certainly finish by the end of January.

When Chapter 3 starts next year, we'll move over to Play@Yog-Sothoth, so all these games will at least be at the same site. We'll also have separate threads for different locations that can advance independently of the others in the new chapter.
 
Yeah, I know. Still, you have to admit Stephanie rocks. We've all got our favorite characters. She won't exactly be safe in Chapter 3 once the helicopter lands to refuel, anyway. And even if none of the current ethnic hotties survive, there are more coming in Chapters 3 and 4 (including a gorgeous Japanese exchange student in Omaha).

Nobody's actually doing her. There's no reason she couldn't be a teacher instead, though. Either way, nobody's going to be able to concentrate in class.
