Well if Lewis has just screwed the pooch so to speak....can I go back and edit it out if I get a chance to before you update? Also how many persuade rolls would I have to do in that case? I lost count of the people I am talking to. I have gone back and edited in the extra 1d4 damage Jim caused.

You can't undo what you've already done. You wouldn't have known that Lewis's actions could be counterproductive if I hadn't told you. Still, what he does will give them pause.

McCain would need to make five Persuade rolls, including the one he's already made, since that's how many civilians he can see. Even so, I don't think he's going to have enough time for Persuade to work before next round, so you might as well not bother. There would be time for Fast Talk, but that won't work on someone who's already been Persuaded by someone else.

The link to the original 2d6 roll of 6 damage is gone from your post now, but I remember it and I could always find it again later. You'll be happy to know that, combined with the 4 from your damage bonus, you've now done enough damage to take down the creature! Even if you hadn't, Mr. Foo had a good chance of finishing it.

"Especially that reckless man Lewis. He's jeopardizing the entire mission. If that grenade launcher goes off, he'll wreck the equipment, not to mention kill all of us"

Hey, I was just thinking and went back and checked....the door to the communication room is closed and Lewis said what he did about the grenade launcher off the radio so how does Lereux know about that?

The comm room door was never closed. Lewis walked out, but he didn't close the door. The windows were also blown out much earlier when the MOAB was dropped on Brownson as well, but even if they hadn't been a 40mm grenade would go right through them like they weren't there. Anyway, a motel room door wouldn't hold up to a grenade that went off within a few feet of it.

Lereux heard Lewis because Lewis is standing right outside, only a few feet south of the door. If Lewis was speaking loud enough for the civilians to hear, Lereux heard him too.

That's okay. Lewis never reached the corner, since Mitchell and Jimmy were coming around it and they went first because they have higher Dex. He wouldn't have closed the door since he had only stepped out onto the balcony for a breath of fresh air, then ran off to the south when McCain warned him.

I'm waiting to give Fearlessfred a chance to post, but I probably won't update again tonight even if he posts now. I need to catch up on things I've neglected to do the past few days (like sleep!), so I wouldn't expect another update until Friday night or possibly Saturday.

While we are closing on the end of the chapter, the endgame has been playing out a bit slower than I had expected, but we should still finish in late December or early January due to the increased rate of posting. I expect there are less than 10 major updates left before the chapter ends.

In the future if everyone has posted except for me and it's a friday go ahead and update it is very unlikely that I'll be able to post
as friday is a very busy day for me usually.

I just posted now. I almost certainly won't be updating this Friday, but I should get in at least one post on Saturday and Sunday, maybe two. I will wait for you, as this is a very critical point in the story and your characters' actions could make a big difference.

Oh, no! Thanks to my crappy rolling (where do those 97s keep coming from?!), two of our ethnic hotties are in terrible danger. Save them before it's too late!

not nice of you to post on the deathtoll thread before posting the deaths IC mr handy!

Sorry. I was almost done with the IC post, but I had to take a break to eat something. Hey, nobody forced you to read the death toll thread before the IC post was up, anyway.

But they weren't in a row! You rolled a 5 for McCain's initiative in between the two 99s. :P

It could have been a lot worse this round. Lewis is dying, and he's done for unless someone gives him First Aid by the end of next round. Not likely in the middle of a raging gunfight. McCain got off rather lightly, though. His rifle is still jammed, but his shotgun is not...

even united with one goal (survival against hordes of undead and flying stingy thingies) mankind fails to work together.

woe is us.

it's a regular bloodbath down there... and the zombies aren't even involved!

I know! The motel was secure, not a zombie in sight, and the humans managed to utterly screw everything up.

Though with one slight correction: the zombies aren't even involved...yet.

Oh, well. Live and learn. Or die and learn, as the case may be.

I see Fearlessfred is online. If he posts, I may be able to update again later tonight, but no promises.

I lost both McCain and Lewis! Gal darn! You are a truly evil man who has way to much luck with the dice Mr. Handy :)

But then again this is my fault for letting Lereux out of my sight. I should have simply killed him when I had a chance!

Well at least now I get to choose another character or two for Chapter 3.
