Patches for Fallout 2

A few thinks about the patch....

Game crashes quite often when you leave the powerplant room in Enclave oil rig. I don't know if this is an old bug, but it is vey annoying.

Gun turrets in first floor where Horrigan comes after blowing up enclaves powerplant seems to do a lot more damage to horrigan atleast, when you use presidental pass with the console. I've tried this a few times and always horrigan died after two shots from gun turrets. Turrets maked a lot of damage to horrigan, over 600hp most of the times. Is this bug or are you tweaked the turrets? Frank is now a little too easy to defeat.

New endings for Vault 13 and Gecko were nice, but did you forgot to add endings for the Elder, Marcus, Harold and the President, or will those be added future patches?

Also, if you remember Connar stuff: script files is included with the patch but they are not used. Will this be added in future patch or...?

Just for the heck of it, I decided to delete the Patch0001 (or whatever) file that was installed off of the CD. At that point, all of the glories of 1.05 seemed to appear.

Is this required? Will it work?

I never had contact with the dual jewel edition of F2 but if it works then you should have nothing to worry about. I’ll include a note about installing the patch on the dual jewel F2in the 1.06 version (if I ever make one :)).

1) You cannot complete anything envolving Tor and his Moomoos. *Go the Dunton way or the good way*. Both ways don't work

2) When talking to the man in the bar in NCR, if you say bite me, the game will crash before entering combat mode.
I just completed Klamath and I had no problems. About the dude in NCR I will check it out when I’ll get to NCR :).

About the reactor room: It crashed just once during the tests. Then it runned fine so I thought I’ve fixed it somehow while tinkering with the reactor. Maybe it’s because of the sounds (the ones from Gecko’s reactor)? I’ll check it out.

I didn’t do anything to the turrets or to Frank. Don’t know what causes this. When I used the presidential pass once (long time ago, on the 1.02 version) Frank died after four turret shots.

The Elder and Marcus will be added for sure since I have thier ending pictures. Don’t know about the rest.

Connar’s fixed script is included with the 1.02 patch. Why they have included it? I have no idea. About Connar and his village I’ll try to include them in the next version.

I hope you do, I want that Den map! Oh hey, wasn't there talk of putting the chosen one's rival in the game, the one that comes in random battles? What ever happened with that? I'm assuming he didn't get put in, because i made it ncr and new reno without ever seeing him.


EDIT: Okay, why is it filtering out the word "c u z"??
 
I want that Den map!
Go to Den, while the town map is displayed, hit 3.

Puting that map back in the game makes no sense to me as other Den areas already have everything that this map supposed to contain (Anna, Smitty).

Locutus : your patch replaces lbs with kg.
 
Overall this is a great patch. Good job.

What is with the robot in the Kalmath rat caves? I couldn't even pick up the parts!!

There is a new Gecko ending!! AHHH

You guys are amazing. Long live Fallout 2.

Like Deadlus writed below there's nothing to add to the third Den map so I doubt to make it officially available. About Kaga: There is some scripting to do for him to appear I think and I'm a bad scripter. :(

They are very, VERY heavy. :)

I only have a few questions regarding mods and the 1.05 patch.

1) Will any of the mods made for 1.02 or earlier work with the new patch?

if answer == "yes" goto 2
else goto thank

2) Will the B-team mod, cult of personality mod and vertibird mod work with the patch?

The parts where an item intended for some unfinished quest so I just added them for fun. They don't do anything (except taking space in your inventory).

How many times did you see things like: "Hey, I found a keycard in Klamath! What does it do?" or "Hey, I used the keycard from Klamath’s canyon to open a secret door on the Enclave and found Chris Avellone eating some power armor!" The dog tags have no hand icon so it’s clear they cannot be used anywhere and are just for fun there. And what’s that about the PA in BH? :?

It depends what files the mods are using. If they use files that are included in the patch and the mod is in patch000.dat format, then the file from the mod will be used. The B-Team mod is already included in the 1.05 so you don’t have to worry about it.
 
Second thing is that there is no T-51b powered combat armor laying next to Mickey in Broken Hills. Do I make myself clear :!:

Well, then I had to screw around with that map using the mapper right when it came out, I guess :)

What do I need to install it? Should I reinstall Fallout 2? I got version 1.02 right now. I already removed some redundant mods (included now in your patch). The mod I am talking about isn't in patch000.dat format, so does that mean it will probably work?
 
Read this.

Other thing: I was in Modoc today and I have given Cornelius his gold watch back. I said it was in the sewer and the quest was completed. The thing is he didn't took the watch. Did someone else encountered this? Did this happened in the 1.02 version?

It has happened to me many times in 1.02. Same kind of problem has occured sometimes when you give "fuel cell controller" to smitty in Den.
