PC PowerPlay Australia reviews Fallout 3

Which are you looking forwards too BN?

I shall be honest, I care for none of these games,
Dead Space might have been fun in a cliché sort of way but I hate EA's DRM which probably will be on this.

Of that lot? I already played BioShock. Saints Row might be interesting but isn't hitting PC until November. Fable II and Fallout 3 don't interest me. Rise of the Argonauts might be a good hack 'n slash but has shown little promise so far.

Mirror's Edge is interesting but won't hit PC until late winter.

Besides, I'm still playing and replaying World of Goo, the best game released this year

You've got to help me accept it as a good game. Start by defining what's good, then tell me how Fallout 3 achieves that.

oh come on! you guys just CAN'T accept that this is a good game!
Even if it was a good game on its own (and it doesn't seem so), I don't think people here buy every "good" game. At least not me, not a millionaire.

Yes! Exactly! Why won't you guys act like good little drones and just swallow the PR and ignore every flaw you've seen with your own two eyes! It's the consumer way! YOU FOOLS!

You people should obviously step down from your high horses and buy a copy of the game out of gratitude. Then you should step down from the horses you stepped down onto from your higher horses and buy another copy for your cat. Then you should just give the game a chance and write Bethesda into your will. GIVE IT A CHANCE DAMMIT WHY WON'T YOU.

Wah-huh?

By the way, Little Big Planet has been delayed due to Religion of Peace anger. It was a week earlier than Fallout 3 before, it's still October now but no word on when in October.

October 14: Dead Space PS3/X360, Saints Row 2
October 19: Rock Band 2
October 20: Dead Space PC
October 21: BioShock PS3, Fable II, (LittleBigPlanet)
October 28: C&C Red Alert 3, Fallout 3
October 30: Rise of the Argonauts
November 7: Gears of War 2
November 11: Mirror's Edge

Busy times ahead

That's pretty amazing, there's not one game on that list that I want to play.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is what needed to be said. There have been over 5 reviews so far, and the majority are very positive, so I will be trying this game out. I apologize-I shouldn't have said it was a great game-but it seems like one, so just give it a chance.

Honestly.
Has it really gotten that bad to where bethesda fellaters have to cling this hard even to positive sarcasm?
Getting afraid now that the game has been pirated and the truth is out?

BN, why do you think Saints Row 2 might be more interesting than Fallout 3??

Also, kikomiko is hilariously pathetic.

I haven't played Saints Row, fedaykin, but I hear it does a good impression of GTA:SA. And that's good enough for me.

I'd rather play an imitation of GTA:SA than a reimagining of Oblivion.

That really says a lot about the game when a respected member of the Fallout community doesn't want to come near it.

To be honest, I think even an impression of SPECIAL and an Oblivion-style sandbox will be somewhat more interesting than an impression of San Andreas.

Everyone here should get off their high horses, the fallout fanboys and the hypeboys....neither of you know whether it is a horrible or great game.

most of you nma guys declare any reviewer that thinks this game is good, or even has a some redeeming things about it, to be utter crap and assume their bought out. I mean i didn't hear too many really harp on the fact that this was in anyway fanboyish and untrustworthy with the canardpc rev. that said it was crap, no that was an HONEST PREVIEW.I find it funny how this guy previewed it twice as long as most people yet didn't really mention anything new, other than presenting it negatively, but hey you guys don't complain about ppl not telling you anything new when they've played like 10 hours.

Don't give me the "if what someone says matches what I've seen I'll be more apt to believe him then when it doesn't.
"shit either, because you guys preach so much how people who like this game just aren't seeing the other sides story enough.

AND HYPEBOYS, could you maybe wait to blow your load until you have the pipboy alarmclock in your hands/. I mean This game cannot be declared GODLY UNTIL IT'S
A. OUT
and B. YOU'VE PLAYED IT!

..................yeesh, see the person for both their pros and cons, not just one of them.

(Left 4 dead by the way looks increasingly fun, and the multiplayer game i've been waiting for all my life)

Why not? It's the best answer people can give you.

I don't think the Canard preview is perfect, in fact it's not very good*. Neither is any of the others I've seen. But this one matches most closely what I've actually seen of the game with my own eyes.

What's wrong with thinking the review that matches what you've seen best is probably the most honest one?

* Keep in mind this is a satirical magazine, tho'. To criticize it for not writing in the clean, concise style of others is like criticizing Yahtzee for doing the same. And as with Zero Punctuation, I wouldn't rely on only this piece as a source of info.
