Well, now that's something we didn't see coming... anyone know the who/why of this attack? I would've understood it if it took place just after that incident with somethingawful or something like that... but we didn't have any attrition with any major communities as of late...

If it didn't seem to be a generalized attack againt the community (DAC getting hammered too) it could look like something from the other sites hosted by NMA's network was interfering with the service... but i can't even start to wonder why this is happening...

Anyway, good luck with the "attacks" hope this ceases soon and we find out who was doing this.
 
We got hosed (The Codex). Taluntain had to take us down until the attacks cease. I figure it's some lousy PHPBB exploit.

Apparently there's a version of the script that exploits weaknesses in PHP itself (old versions of PHP 4).

Terra-Arcanum has also been attacked. I'll look through the log files in a minute but I don't think our 305 users online today is because of our hyper-active community. So I think you can rule out someone specificly targetting the Fallout crowd.

I trust Odin and i don´t mind if the kid continues to be banned, just thought i should point out some reservations. And Jebus the document is funny as hell, the sheer amount of spelling errors is awesome :)
