There must be some very good explanation of how exactly you get in the house after you board everything from the outside. Or maybe I m just overlooking something.

A more important question, I believe, is where did the good people of Washington D. C. find the time to board up their houses when there was a nuclear war to flee from. Or was everything boarded up later? But why?

I can never hit that PrintScreen button fast enough, but you know how NPCs' energy weapons shoot sideways in this game? And when you fire the plasma rifle in VATS, it shoots around corners under (un?)certain circumstances. I never really bought into the "Oblivion with guns" view, but I'm starting to have my doubts too.
