Ratio of raiders to settlers

EDITED: Added minor factions. Got New Vegas here. Really interesting to see the differences.

Whoa, that was quick, great job! One thing I loved about NV was the attention to detail with the enemy placement. Fiends, Powder Gangers, and other "raider" type enemies have specific locations that they inhabit for actual reasons instead of being all around the entire map. And the reduced enemy count compared to 3 and 4 makes it much more plausible for other characters besides the player to reasonably travel the wastes. Again, great job, SGG.

I like that fact in fallout 3 super mutants inhabited down town DC any no where else. This made it actually feel like DC was though place to go with tougher enimeys. Even though there tougher enimeys in boston they don't really feel different and does't actualy feel thougher other than ust more of the same enemy witch does't actually make sence

I think it's because of the shit enemy scaling in F4. They just put enemies everywhere because they'll be as strong as the player, instead of making high level areas.

Yeah i personally am a big fan of higher level areas especially if there built in naturally and lore friendly. My frist real memory of fallout 3 out in the wastes is getting to a place with tough raiders and also getting to gray ditch and getting killed by the fire ants (There were actually tough for lower level enemys). Also FNV put them death claws at sloan and make syou walk round the map in less you wanna take you're chances a run through that shit XD

Bethesda isn't interested in applying logic and context to enemies. The way they see it, the player is just going to kill them all in a few minutes, so who cares about the niggling little details of who these people are and how they fit in the world? They evidently don't realize that solid, consistent worldbuilding that leaves no characters or factions out leads to a far more immersive world and a much richer experience for the player. Which is awfully strange, because I'm pretty sure they did realize this and flesh out even the minor factions in their earlier games.

I blame it on Toddie. He's one of those mainstream fags that wants to appeal to as many people as possible to make money. Who else would hire faggots like Petey? Or Emil?

Legend:
Skulls are misc. raider outposts (jackals, vipers)
Sticks of dynamite are powder gangers
Jet inhalers are fiends
Radioactive symbol is super mutants (any, regardless of hostility)
Orange houses are towns/small settlements
The single red house is Vegas
The "34" is the Boomers
The cross is the Followers

If you don't know the rest please fuck off ;)
One of the things that separates Fallout New Vegas from any garbage Bethesda pukes out is that it has a beautiful and sometimes complicated number of factions and groups. Like Goodsprings and The Jackles. I like your map, excellent work. But for it to truly shine, you would need to be honest with it. Your legend should be at least twice as large as Fallout 4's, I know it is probably a lot of work, but, do you think when you have time you can "un-simplify it." There are also more then one faction of Super Mutants, You have Tabitha's which are generally hostile and Jacob's town, or Marcus' Which are generally peaceful. The strip has a number of factions, there is also west side, the kings, list goes on.

The reason it wasn't full of stuff like Utobitha and the Jackals is because I didn't do the same for F4. I know the Vipers and Jackals are leagues ahead of the Triggermen, but because I didn't map out smaller factions for F4 I decided not to for NV. I might edit it though.

Also I did have the Kings, they're just under New Vegas. Didn't have an official symbol so I just went with their quest marker.

Seriously though, even for both maps, if you have time. I think you did a great job and it would be cool to have an ultimate guide to the factions on the map, even if you did the same for F4, they would be nowhere near the amount of even half of NV.

I'll do Fallout 4 now, might have to start from scratch with NV, don't think I saved the original images :/

I did it.

I think my next project will be a map of Fallout 4, but for everyone stupid thing there will be a picture of Todd. For especially stupid things there will be a picture of Emil. And for plain offensive things there will be a picture of Petey.
Make the pictures occupy a small square instead of their faces, and for the "just okay" things leave the background.
It'd look like a particularly unfolded gruyére.

Legend:
Toddy - stupid things (roads that can only fit 1 car, super orcs etc.)
Emil - Really stupid things (gunners, fucking awful dungeons etc.)
Petey - shit like factions surviving when they fucking couldn't, and more awful variations of the Toddy and Emils
Mega Petey - shit like AlienCitiesUnderTheMojave.fml and that pre-war drug jet
Chris Avellone - good stuff in the game
Everything else - bare minimum for a 2015 game

tbh, my poop is more aesthetic than this shit. And you got the placement way off. I mean for starters, Pete should be representing the landmass, Todd the broken overpasses and Emil would represent the shit-water. C dog wouldn't be on the map because there isn't enough room for him.

I'd totally forgotten about Edward Winter. Not sure if it's as bad or worse than Hancock's radiation drug.

Anyway, as bad as the number of raiders are I still think the Gunners are worse. What the hell are they doing making outposts here, there and everywhere, for what reason?

I'd be more willing to accept it if the raiders were actually a big group united against the Gunners and they were fighting over other settlements in between.

EDIT: Nice work on the map btw

As for the ghouls. I think if it was from http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Forced_Evolutionary_Virus Marsoplia strain it wouldn't have been too far fetch as if one of the prisoners actually became as ghoul but was imprisoned for further research etc, Mainly because Harold became a ghoul due to his expedition with Richard Grey Years later. But it wouldn't be like the other ghouls mainly because i believe the vault that leaked radioactive material into the vault didn't leave odd details such as the tree that was growing from harolds head. Which might imply the difference inbetween between Harold and the other ghouls. Again, This would only apply to a small minority of course and FEV/PvP whatever effected the expeditionary group might have been unique on the indivuals own genetic code. Richard Grey became the master or a pyskic, Harold a Ghoul.
