Just meant "Yeah, fucking Wasteland. Whooooo!"
Oh, well then, yeah, woo!

Anyone ever play Alley Cat? Little game from 1984... featuring cats! You hop around and collect mice and stuff, of course, avoiding bastard dogs and, uh, stuff. Check out the amazing graphics!

I was about to say Marathon, but I forgot it was only on the Mac. Curses.

Are you sure? If you mean that Marathon that I am thinking about right now... I've played the demo a lot back in the days. Can't remember right now if that was on DOS or windows system.

not sure anymore, was C&C1 a dos game ? I think the Dune game was at least. But need one really to explain CC and Dune now ?

C&C1 and red alert both got a dos version. But I personally like the windows version much more. :>

Also Jagged Alliance was a dos game, wasn't it? Played it a lot back in the days as well. Really good and tactical game. And it becomes pretty hard later ingame.

No, you were saying Wasteland is much, much, much, much, much less than a grinning smiley.
Dohohohoho.

Also, Exhumed (a.k.a. PowerSlave) is another good BUILD Engine game (besides Blood, Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior). It lacks mouse control (sadly :() but it's pretty decent.

Gunning down monsters in an Egyptian setting is a pretty interesting mix if you ask me.

Yeah, that Marathon, but it wasn't released on DOS or Windows, it was strictly Macintosh. However, there is a Windows emulator called Aleph One that you can run all the games, and the games are freeware nowadays...

Then it might have been Marathon 2, which was released on windows as well.

you sure that's a BUILD engine game? looks more like DOOM to me than Duke Nukem 3D..
It's one of the less recognizable (recognizable being Duke 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood and Redneck Rampage) BUILD Engine games but it definitely is a BUILD game. Being able to jump and swim should be enough to tell you it ain't Id Tech 1 (or at least not the modified Id Tech 1 that runs games such as HeXen or Strife).

king's bounty (no, not remake :D)
ufo: enemy unknown

ishar series (ishar 2 was my favorite)
syndicate (original, not wars)
adventure games like monkey island 1&2, but it's better to play them with scummvm

monkey island 1 and 2 are now available as special editions from steam, as it includes the original graphics as well as the classic looks, awesome games they were and are too

I also loved the settlers, (maybe settlers 2) but the settlers was an awesome game, don't really care for the sequels,

syndicate was another awesome game, I have fond memories playing that game,

other dos games,

lost Vikings (utter brilliant) honour and music was spot on)
carrier command (pretty hard game as taking out the enemy carrier was tricky)
plenty of others, but need to rack my brains, those are the ones I remeber playing a lot

I know they are rmaking MI2 with high def gfx etc, but I didn't know they re-did 1 as well..

monkey island 1
http://store.steampowered.com/app/32360/

monkey island 2

http://store.steampowered.com/app/32460/

got both as I loved both games, you can freely switch between the classic graphics and the updated graphics whenever you want, well worth it if you like the games, far better then the later games by miles, loved the original for its pirate fights, and the insults which you use :D

and 2 is very good as well, both great classic games :D

edit
they redid MI1 a while back, but then they said there was no plans to do the second one, but I guess they change their mind, and glad that they did :D :D :D

how appropriate, you fight like a cow!..

:)

I didn't know they re-did 1 .. I recently went through the first 4 again for some reason ( no idea what reason.. ) and came across the plans for the MI2 update..

must get hold of the last one.. MI5 it was in episodes wasn't it?

Sim city 2000 i remember the 20 disks it came on

Mean Streets - I liked the tex murphy games

DINOPARK TYCOON - pure nostalgia. I loved this game. Play it but never can make a good park.

oh hell yes! I loved this game as a kid. dammit, I'm gonna have to see if it works in dosbox.

I also had a fascination for this game as a kid. And it works in DosBox :)
The only shame is there isn't a full multiplayer mode with the tournament thing.
