Red Dead Redemption

There are telegraph offices but they aren't functional (except for paying off your bounty). In fact, none of the social life of GTA 4 returns. The game is more like Vice City in terms of gameplay.

My copy just got dispatched from Amazon.co.uk today so should be able to enjoy shooting cougar men pretty soon.

Oddly in my job interview today one of the questions I had was "name a game made by Rockstar that isn't GTA".

my desire to play this game is reaching a level of ridiculous. I might actually buy it only to play on my friends 360. only problem is that his TV is so shitty that it might actually not be worth it.

has there been ANY talk about a PC port at all or is it just wishful thinking on our part?

Midnight Club, Bully, Table Tennis.

A short list, but enough to shut anybody up who needs to be shut up.

I went with Max Payne to show my old skool geek cred.

Well it arrived today but I was out so gotta wait till tommorow as the Royal Mail is incredibaly slow.

I've been playing this game for 5-6 days now and damn . . . Let me tell ya, it is fucking awesome. Since I bought it I can't put it down. The story and characters are great as in any Rockstar games. The mechanics and controlling are clear and simple. I beat the main story line and it is still very enjoyable. Just completed all the treasure hunter challenges and I'm onto "Sharpshooter" and "Hunter" ones. That being said, I highly recommend the game (duuh).

Well after slogging through a typical British summer's day (my coats still drying) I now have it.
Played it for a couple of hours and man is it fun. It has a likeable, interesting main character which I thought was illegal or something nowadays.

[spoiler:6c46049fcf]Yeah, too fuckin' bad he dies at the end. I wish I didn't take that mission.[/spoiler:6c46049fcf]

So after a few more hours of playing RDR i must say that this game truly rocks! The first few hours were boring but the game eventually got interesting and the characters and missions are much much memorable than those in GTA IV.

Bought it. I feel like Dead Eye is too VATSy but other than that I like the game a lot. The environment almost feels like how Fallout 3 should have been.

Nice to hear you guys are so positive about RDR. I wasn't sure I'd ever see a really successful western-themed game. I'll have to rent a console some time and try it out.

My only major qualms with the game are the poor AI for Poker and Liar's Dice. Way too easy.

Liars Dice I agree, but Poker just BS'd me so many times thanks to AIs laying down a hand, then it giving them credit for having a hand they blatantly did not have, however the Hell that works out.

I bought it this weekend when my grad school class ended...as in about 4 hours ago. It looks great but I have been playing fallout 2 for the first time, and playing it every night for the last few weeks if I could squeeze it in, and so to go from that to trying to shoot the damn rabbits while on horseback...well that was a quick learning curve. being a PC gamer who just got his xbox 360 this summer (my first console since 2000 when i got N64, I don't like the left stick movement right stick aim thing but I guess i will get used to it.
