How so? I'm fine with most Reddit discussions that don't get out of hand. The general topics discussions on here tend to get very complicated about two pages in, so that's why I usually prefer Reddit for anything that's not Fallout.
Every time someone discusses something serious here, you have to be consistent with your opinions and you need to back your claims with direct sources. That feels a little bit too much for what I consider a casual conversation.
Besides, Reddit's discussion area is a glorified comments section when you really think about it, considering they're outright labelled comments and most of the time, they really are just comments and speculation on shared content in the main post.
