royal wedding -- does anyone care?

Just look at how we all felt about Princess Diana, she was one of the most loved cultural figures of all time over here. I remember when she died, random people I was around were balling crying and all sorts of craziness.
Thing with Diana is she actually did exactly NOT felt and acted like one of the typical "royals" which made here a for the public a very fascinating character as the Royals are often seen or associated with a rather cold or unaffected mentality while she was seen as a very emotional personality. I just remember the speech her brother did on her funeral where he really criticized the royals.

Wasn't she also a huge humanitarian? I read about it somewhere that before she actually died, she tried to use her status to raise awareness for multiple environmental issues?

I really haven't paid much attention and truth be told its also of little interest to me.

Not going to judge the wedding's coverage over coverage of the Libyan civil war, weddings like any party is way of forgetting about the ills of the world, even for just a day.

What I find a bit stupid is all the crap surrounding it like merchandising.
Commemorative plate sets and so on.

If it was financially interesting there would be a royal wedding every month.

Hehe. Just so no one says that I didn't like the wedding because I don't like anything that comes from "Brit City". Actually I know a girl in Northern Ireland that I would like to marry myself. But that's another story.

Yeah, and a huge advocate of land mine removal organizations in third world countries among other such things. Overall she was a very well liked and people friendly lady. She also appeared to be genuine in her interest in that type of stuff, and not motivated at all by personal gain.

She was a great person, don't get me wrong. I suppose I just still don't understand why so many Americans still get so tore up when thinking about her death. Maybe it is something I was not old enough to understand at the time.

Surprisingly accurate, well at least Prince Charles' ears are.

As other folks have pointed out, save the media coverage for serious world affairs like the libyan civil war, death of bin laden or something else that actually greatly effects the fucking world.

Who is this? And why would this seem like a nice thing to wear at a royal wedding?
