Is this true? I would have to say no because as far as I know there is no way to get into the toxic caves without the yellow key card you get off the dead enclave soldier in Klamath near the Vertibird. This only happens in the patched game. But this secret says an unpatched game is needed to get this secret.

So does anyone have any info on this or is it just a video game urban legend or what?

I may be very hazy recalling... but fairly certain that you get into the toxic caves with the electronic lock picks.

@ Gizmojunk Really? I thought it was only possible in a patched game.

The electric lockpick does the trick. The youtube video above obviously is some random bs.

I remember this creepypasta, this and two more from Fallout 3 are the only ones in the genre.

The unknow Fallout game was Fallout EXTREME

This is just an urban myth, but I would love to see this creepypasta playable for Fallout 2.

Why are all of these creepypastas always full of arbitrary contrived bullshit that completely ruins the near-believability they should be trying to build?

Better question, WHY do they even exist, where they claim there's "a secret ending to x game" and CAN'T so much as show screenshots of said game? Already then and there that kills any credibility they should be trying to build up. Say what you will about 9/11 conspiracy theorists, and least they have pictures that they point to in their crazy power point slideshows that they try to use as evidence. If a nutjob tells me there's a secret ending to FO2, and never ever so much as shows me any evidence of it barring their description of the thing, I'm gonna have to harken back to that age-old internet gaming meme: Screenshot or it didn't happen.

Hehe, cool, OP, yes, this is totally true, and not a myth at all. You know how they managed to make the final character match the character you played in FO1? They use the Orb of Seeing, with this mysterious, jet-black stone, they can gaze into both the past and future of mankind - they can lock onto individuals

    for example YOU!
    In fact

they are watching you right now

    Haha

So, you see a video with Creepy pasta on the title and then ask if it's true? Does nobody know what a creepy pasta is nowadays?

But there were no absurd embellishments or omissions in the narration to raise any questions of trustworthiness!

NEVER EVER heard of this thing, before seeing this thread. I don't partake in most dumb internet social phenomenons, though, so if it's one of those things (like knowing who PewDiePie was before Game Theorists made a video on him) then it's no surprise I'm oblivious to it. XD

You should read some of the Minecraft ones. Look how far the Herobrine one went. I think this is why the mods of that website don't allow you to publish any related to gaming any more.

Nah.. They just paid some random dude to sit around all day and hack and spy on whoever bought Fallout 2, using a spy hack hidden in the games files. Then they told this guy to fuck with people if they found the ending.

But on the actual CreepyPasta. It was really, really good imo, right up until they say the Vault Dweller is the same character model/name as the one you played in the last game even if it was played on a diff computer. Then it just get's entirely stupid from there on in. If they would have just ended it with that thing about shooting the Easter Egg into the Vault dweller's head and seeing the video of a man playing an unknown game, that would have been a great ending. But they had to go a fuck it up so more by saying don't turn on T.V.'s because that's where the white noise is coming from. Also his Scottish (?) accent kind ruined it, especially when he tried to use a saddened, monotone voice when reading it. I remade my own version of the CreepyPasta:
