Sequels that are at least debatbly better than their predecessors? (All genres and mediums)

ive never played a zelda game in my life. well i've played a link to the past for like 20 minutes. Regardless, im gonna go ahead and say that breath of the wild is the best one for giving us trap link

i gotta say fellas the rule34 on this one has been... just great.

Everybody in Skyward Sword has dick sucking lips, altho that one is probably the worst 3D Zelda.

which is better/worse, the people jerking off furiously to Trap Link from BotW or the people jerking off furiously to Wolf Link from Twilight Princess

seeing as how wolf link isnt even person shaped... yeah... that's outright zoophilia. i like furry porn as much as the next guy but holy shit
anyone jacking it to that needs to take about 60% off...

by the way i've been thinking of dropping like $40 on a copy of Windwaker for the GCN. worth it or naw?

wind waker is pretty good, get it
Thanks man.

also ive been playing a lot of tony hawk's American Wasteland lately and, while not technically a sequel to anything, compared to its predecessors it takes the moveset to a whole new level. and the loading times being basically nonexistent is pretty awesome for the time. easily one of the best in the series.

Well, THUG 2 was better than the first so the Tony Hawk games would indeed be another example I guess

I have a question.
Breath of the Wild is a sequel to which Zelda games?
As far as I know, Breath of the Wild is not a sequel to any other game. It is a Zelda spinoff and probably will start a new Zelda series itself.

Uhmm no, what makes you think that? It's the latest main line Zelda game, no idea where you are getting that is a Spin off...

It is a spinoff because it plays and does things totally different from all the other Zelda games to date. It is not a sequel.
It will probably be the first to spawn sequels for it's new zelda genre/type (open-world, exploration adventure).

Most of the Zelda games were Action Adventure Puzzle games before.
This is the first to be open-world, exploration adventure.

So, no... It is not a sequel, it is a spinoff that will without a doubt became a mainstream series and spawn sequels of itself.
Probably will be the end of the previous Zelda genre games, and will become the main genre in the Zelda game series, but it is still not a sequel to any previous Zelda game.

Breath of the Wild is a Puzzle adventure Action game with open world exploration, just like Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess before it.

So yeah, it is a sequel, it's threated as the new Main Zelda game.

By that Logic every new mainline Zelda game is a spin off because each added new elements to the game.

Ocarina of time and Twilight Princess does not play like Breath of the Wild.
By that logic Fallout Tactics is a sequel to Fallout 2, because it only uses a couple new elements.

Those elements you mention are too "big", they change the gameplay and game structure too much that it changes the entire game genre.

The games you mention are 3D and kinda "open", but they are not open world, the systems in the game are also different enough that Breath of the Wild gameplay is very different from the previous games.

This is not a bad thing though.

They are different because they are increasingly more powerful hardware, Twilight Princess has a whole sword Fighting system and the Wolf form mechanic that is a huge change to Ocarina. There is a clear focus on exploring the map, but one is on the N64 and the other is on the GCN so obviously the scope and the mechanics are more simplified.

Sequels don't have to be the exact same game with better graphics, Persona 2 and Persona 3 play completely different and they are considered Sequels to each other. Resident Evil 4 plays differently to RE Code Veronica and RE3, nobody would call it a spin off.

Fallout Tactics is explicitly considered a spin off by the developers of the original. Breath of the Wild is contantly refered to as "The latest entry into the Zelda series" and it's the mainline game. No idea why you are insisting on this "It's a spin off" angle to be honest, truly baffles me.

Because some Zelda fans are not a fan of the total open world instead of the zoned type areas of previous Zelda games.

IMO The Zelda formula was getting extremely stale 3 games ago. Breath of the Wild is just choke full of amazing game design, when you hear the decision making process behind not only make people explore more but to also feel a sense of personal satisfaction and discovery is incredible, they even play with draw distance and elevation, this is what a game should do.

Mario Odyssey was also the best 3D mario game ever. It's so weird for the Switch to have come out with such strong launch titles. Previous Nintendo consoles with controller gimmicks usually integrated them extremely poorly and never felt like they actually fit. But Odyssey while having solid regular controllers actually gets an extra layer of skill for advanced players when played in the Separated controllers mode and it feels really intuitive, it's just great.
