Silver Style and Fallout 3

While its great that a company, albeit an unproven company as you said, wants to get the FO license, I still think it should be in the hands of those who have worked on Fallout since its inception, ie: the guys at Troika. I also wouldn't mind seeing the former BIS guys get together and form their own company, maybe even buying the BIS name (cause i'm sure IPLY will do anything for money once they tank, which they will definitly do). Even though right now I just want anything that has the name Fallout 3 on it, I really do want a very good game, and I think the guys who have already worked on past fallout titles are the ones for the job.

Well, I'm sure they'll find plenty of native speakers of English volunteering to proofread the FO3 dialogues :)

BTW, did they already contact BIS to see if the name was for sale on the PC? Anyone?

Mistary

But seriously, dunno.

That is something in their favor. I'd be willing to bet SilverStyle wouldn't deviate from the canon too much. Something like this "needs" to be made by "fans" at this point.

Ideally I'd like Troika to make it, but that's probably not going to happen. I do like the fact that Silver Style are enthusiastic about doing it, but I'd have to hold out judgement until The Fall gets released.

My thoughts exactly.

Is the PC liscense even for sale? I doubt it will be for months yet

If they don't sell teh rights soon, I'm going to worry.

As if Iply gets bought by EA or something: Bye Bye all chances for a decent Fo3.

Does buying the rights to FO give you rights to SPECIAL?

Wow

Interesting question

I think not, but I don't think Interplay is very difficult about the rights of SPECIAL. I mean, Lionheart used it. If a company could get the rights to Fallout, they'd surely be able to get the rights to SPECIAL for a bit of extra cash too.

An honest opinion heh.

Well it would suck.......

if Fallout 3 was never relesed. As long as they keep true to the setting and atmospere of the game then i'm all for it. It doesn't matter whose name is developing it as long as they keep the above things in mind.

Add but not change is my point of view.
Actually they seem to be willing to even listen to us even before they got the rights which gives them a MONSTER head-start on IPLY

Let me tell you a little story about Silver Style (if I got nothing wrong, it's a long while ago). After they released Soldiers of Anarchy, the fan request for turn-based was strong. So what did Silver Style do? They made a turn-besed option for the game, and released it in a patch! If that is not dedication to your fans then I don't know what is! :D

Wow....

A question - is any of their games turn-based, and are they willing to make a TB game?

The Fall is supposed to be TB/RT. Dunno about the games they've made. Anyone?

I think that it would be great if they made the game. Especially with the help of the BIS developers. I too would prefer Troika but that seems a little impracticle.

Does anybody else think the making the Fall and then Fallout 3 sounds sorta funny?

Hey Slaughter long time no see.

If they could set up some business plan with the rights, a Tactics2 made by them, that could work, and get an american partner from the start to make Fallout3, so they didn`t have to go into a Gothic2 american release episode, then yeah, they could pull it off.

But they can`t jut make Real Time with pause like The Fall, that would ruin it.

Carsten is a real Fallout fan, that i can tell.

I have nothing against it, but let's see The Fall first. I also think they should get some of the old BIS staff to work for them before purchasing the Fallout license.
