Silver Style and Fallout 3

I'm probably the only one not expecting much of The Fall.. First of all, the screesnhots don't look that good in my opinion, and the world seems too happy and "daylighty" for my liking.. second, I've played their Soldiers of Anarchy which was ok as a strategy game, but the post apocalyptic theme and mutants and whatnot in it just felt corny. Also, it seems to me The Fall will be very combat oriented.

I hope I'm wrong and that The Fall will be a great game, but I can't help of being sceptical about it. And Fallout 3 in their hands... wweeelll, I'd at least want to see the Black Isle people hired to carry on the work, then I wouldn't mind.

edit. corrected Soldier of Fortune to Soldiers of Anarchy

Ok...but

They have to realize they would have to stay strict to the gameplay and style of Fallout and have a similar interface and so fourth. I mean I don't need another Master of Orion 3. No offense to those who liked it. They just did a bad job in my opinion. There should be revolutionizing gameplay and what not as new games are released, but it was so far changed it should have been named something else instead MOO3. If they can pull it off, I am all for it. I like that he said he would want to hire some of the BIS staff. He is smart, and whoever gets the license needs to be smart. I think everyone would prefer Troika to do it. I like the look of the Fall, though. Who ever gets the license needs to be hardcore Fallout fans and not think they are gods and are going to redo the series. I don't know what I am trying to say anymore. But the point is, the company that gets FO3, better not fuck it up. I am sick of the shit that keeps happening with games lately.

Edit:
I'd like to see a company do it, improve it and keep to Fallout tradition. Meaning when it is released it has to be buggy as hell. ha.

Really though who ever got it could make big money. Black Isle seemed to be going a good job of what I heard to moving it into 3d and keeping it like the previous Fallout's and thats what needs to be done. You have to keep the combat system(and ability for turn-based), Fallout humor, Talking Heads, most of the guns, and much more. It would be hard(its so easy to mess up games now-a-days) but if the company is up to the challenge, I'd like to see it done by yesterday by any company willing, experienced and mindful of the fans. Thats all I have to say about that.

Its a good idea, especially if they actually do get some former BIS members to work on it. Although, I'd only go for it if the story and Fallout controls/combat weren't changed.

It looks as though Interplay actually could sell the Fallout PC rights under their agreement with Vivendi, even though they can't actually sell the unfinished game...

As long as they do it good, I don't care about the company name.
Keep it true and you've got my support.

I will put my hopes on/in? Silver Style (as everyone else I assume) for a great FO3. The only thing that fears me is that Silver Style is a international (german?) company (which has caused some great games to not become runners).

Oh I guess another pick-me-up is needed to make me feel better about the BIS tragedy...

Yes

If they hire some blacks isle crew, then yes they have my blessing to make fallout 3.

Please i need it!!

Oyhe i will boycot interplay for the rest of my life !!

This looks nice after all :) I wouldn't trust Silver Style alone to make a good Fallout title, but if they get help from the devs that were affiliated with FO3, then hell yeah.

Troika. Yeah, I think Troika should buy the rights and make the game we're hungry for. The only game I've ever played that showed any resemblance to the Fallout games was Arcanum. I think Troika knows how to pull it off, they have the skills and the experience.

Let me explain something about Silver Style:

Silver Style is probably the most customer oriented developer ever made. The motto: 'By Gamers for Gamers' shold go to them.

Let me explain:

1) They published a demo of their post apocalyptic RTS 'Soldiers of Anarchy'. Then they listened to all the feedback and changed their game to meet the gamer's expectations. They implemented loads of new features and changed stuff because that's what the fans wanted!

2) They constantly post on the messageboards of their company, give usefull hints and tips and are generally helpfull.

3) After SOA was published, they contacted the German JA2 community. They threw their ideas for their next game at us, gave us some planned features, a bit of the story and told us to make a game out of it. We had to post what items/equipment/skills/game mechanics/NPCs/character interaction we wanted. A load of fans gave tons of input and 'Project P' became 'The Fall'. Even now after it has been announced, you can still tell Silver Style what you want to see and they will try to implemented.
There is a thread in the forums where you post what the NPCs in the world should do. You give them a name, and give thema shedule for 24hrs. This character will then be put into the game! Your own NPC.
The menus in TheFall were criticized and Sylver Style are changing them as we speak.

That is what Silver Style calls support.

(Where do I fit in? I don't work for them, I'm just a poster from the JA2 boards who was lucky enough to help them create a post apocalyptic RPG.)

and if you call now you'll get a free bonus packadge!

Lol!

No I'm being perfectly honest here. Check out their forums. I am glad that there actually are devs that are willing to listen to their customers.

if they get some former BIS members to work on it...
if they take all the time necessary to do the game...
if they will listening the fans opinion about the game developement
if Troika or Obsidian don't buy the license first...

I'm with Silver Style
