Skyrim vs Fallout 4: Who is playing?

I never bought the DLC's for Skyrim. Like I said in another thread; I don't like it when content that makes the game bearable is put behind a pay-wall. I did get sex mods tho'.

There's only so much you can do in a game before it is time to move on. Unless you can extend a game's longevity.
You can with Skyrim.
You can't with Fallout 4.
Doesn't necessarily mean Skyrim is a better game than Fallout 4.

Thank you :) I knew you had it in you. tbh, I like Skyrim, with my custom setup of mods. Your complaints to it are valid and if I could not mod it to my liking, I wouldn't play it. The base game is a lot of copy paste everything. I still play it because I'm playing it how I want and not because of a pay wall. How I have it modded is very enjoyable and I like enough of the some of the base game to put the effort in to fixing things. To me it sound likes for you Skyrim is 100% garbage, where I see it as maybe 65% garbage. If I fix at least 40% of the Garbage I can have a game I find 75% enjoyable and the other 25% is easily avoidable so that is how I can still do it.
You might think, why invest time into fixing something so broken? I don't really have to. There are enough people that have similar issues and already did the hard work. I can fine tune thier efforts and have a most excellent time. The issue for me with FO4 is that I find that game to be 100% garbage and beyond repair.

If you look at Skyrim as one step forward 2 steps back, to me Fallout 4 is no steps forward and a monkey fucking a football.

I am not willing to do either of those things with FO4.

Nothing will convince me that Dawnguard was anything more than a pile of crap. The only valuable thing it added to the game was assets for modders to make use of.

Yeah that DLC had two factions but always had the same result, joining with the Dawnguard that hunt down vampires but the daughter of the big bad is allowed in and an exception? These guys are not very smart, for a they know she could've been a scout or a spy. Classical Bethesda.

I loved Skyrim when it first came out. Played it for quite some time but once those mods came, oh boy. I currently have 570 hours for Skyrim on steam and the vast majority of that is from modding because the modded game is far superior compared to the base game, which gets dull after the first time. However these days I can't even boot it up without getting bored even with my 200+ mods.

The DLC was, for the most part, alright. Dawnguard is pretty lackluster with it storyline, both lead to the exact same ending with only a few minor adjustments. Dragonborn was interesting enough, a new (already visited) island that rode people's nostalgia for Morrowind. Hearthfire is the ugly little duckling however, it's decently fun at first that lets you build your own house (!!!). Modders already did this months before Beth did it and that mod wasn't near as grindy as Beth's version.

I still prefer Oblivion to Skyrim because of the amount of work people have put into the mods over there. You can set the game up however you want because there is such a variety of overhaul mods. Now my love for Oblivion could just be those rose-tinted glasses because it was my entry into RPGs but I love the world, characters, and even the potato like faces everyone has. Skyrim took many of the classical RPG elements out (attributes, classes, repair), all of which I loved. Oblivion also did this from Morrowind with it's simplification of many elements but Oblivion to Skyrim is far worse than Morrowind to Oblivion.

Today is the day this thread has predicted.

Skyrim has more people playing than Fallout 4, not by much, but it is trending. Less and less people want to stay in that shit world and and would rather player a five year old game.

Agreed with the top two points, but I hope you don't think that 28303 are playing Skyrim is because of sex mods.
You'd be surprised. Just look at the downloads on the Nexus for nude mods. A decent amount of those people probably also visit Loverslab. Sex sells.

I'm not saying that people don't use sex/nude mods, I'm sure 99.9 % of them do. I'm saying that they aren't playing because of them, I'm sure some people are, but not the vast majority,
Top endorsed mods last two weeks.
In the top 25 there are only 2 mods that contain nudity, and both have non-nude variants.
25 - 50 there are two mods, one is a male nude and the other is a sex mod.
50 - 75 there are two female followers that are advertised as nude or almost nude to sell them
75 - 100 there are three, two are body replacers and one is a sex mod

So if you look liberally at the top 100 'enjoyed' mods of the last two weeks, 2% are sex mods and 5% are body replacers which are not 100% for a adult game play, some people actually just want the characters in the game to look realistic, and 2% 'sexy' followers. Oddly everyone doesn't share the same thought pattern and I would say that if people were only playing Skyrim because of sex mods and nudity than the percentages would weight greater in their favor, as seen in the link, they do not.

Why else would they play that repetitive piece of shit?
It's actually quite satisfying to play once in a while. The combat feels rather good, even though it's certainly not the deepest combat system by any stretch of the imagination. Personally, I think it's a pretty relaxing game, although I do agree that it gets old very quickly, so I couldn't play it for extended periods of time.
Btw., your signature is hella annoying.

So it's like your posts here on NMA then.
