So...Bethesda's Closed Beta testing the Creation Kit.

We also don't like their spokesperson or writer and, some of us don't like their producer, otherwise I'm sure Beth is full of talented people whom have merely wasted their potential by working at a soul sucking corporate obelisk.

@Spacemunkey, @Izak
I can relate to this. War has changed.
Fallout 3 was called by someone Oblivion with Guns, what of course did differ from original Fallouts, this is why i was grateful for New Vegas.
Bethesdas titles are enjoyable in a way, but i draw a line between original Fallout lore and Bethesdas vision.
I just don't like blind hate, just because it was made by Beth. I'm over it.

It's not as though I wait for Bethesda's new game so I can go into a tangent about how it's an awful example of the gaming industry. All in all Bethesda's a solid company, Dishonoured and Wolfenstein were both great games and, there's almost always clear potential in BGS's games, as Spacemunkey said, it's merely annoying to see that with every game they release they drive off chunks of their fan base.
Also they don't really address criticism seeing as how two points critics unanimously agree on is that Bethesda games are buggy and badly written, yet every game they release worsens in these respects, rather than attempting to improve Bethesda decides to streamline, further alienating the audience.

@Izak
I agree on the writing part, the games always felt as the scenery revolved around the MC, Obsidian made a better job in New Vegas, creating a world to immerse in.
However, the bugs were also present in New Vegas, the reason they missed the top rating by an inch.
Also, is the user feedback really that bad with Bethesda?

You can complain about Rockstar all you want, at least they didn't turn GTA into something it isn't. GTA V wasn't a top-down 4X strategy game set in outer space. In contrast, Fallout has been turned into Borderlands.

That said, Fallout 4 is the best Borderlands game I have ever played. That's both a compliment and an insult.

Well...
GTA did use to be a top-down sort-of-wacky shooter and now it's more of a third-person realism-but-not-really-realism-just-realism-in-every-way-to-make-movement-with-your-character-as-annoying-and-clunky-as-possible cinematic experience... With shooting! So I guess they still got that part right.

@Irwin John Finster, @Mr Fish: Nah, it has become the Grand Buy Auto, (See that supercar? You can't steal to own it. Purchase it at our shop.), Adversary Modes noone plays, grind bank jobs all the day long with incompetent people or trolls to buy expensive stuff you don't really need, permanent waiting for people to join your match and frustration about lags also get blown up by online cheaters 90% of the time when playing in public session.
"Story Mode? What is a Story Mode? Buy cash cards and enjoy new adversary mode next week! Do not mention anything else than praise of current update or get your comment deleted!
There is no GTA V! Only GTA:Online! It is here, it was always here and there is no other GTA games other than GTA:Online!"
GTA V was only a extensive tutorial and aperitif for its multiplayer part.

It's not even GTA anymore. Just a cash grabbing machine. Leslie Benzies, the Avellone of GTA has left Rockstar recently, also, sued Take Two for lack of royalties.

As i'm posting on Fallout fan forums, OT: Fallout 4 has offered me a lot more, compared to, well, GTA-online.
This is why i'm mildly hyped for the upcoming DLCs. Especially for G.E.C.K. that will allow me to create again, instead of just consuming.

I heard a few things about the GECK and apparently it is almost the exact same thing as Skyrim's kit with maybe a few more advanced things that mod authors haven't gotten to yet. The exciting thing is Bethesda finally decided to give out their Max 2013 exporter but apparently it's just about the same one they used for Oblivion because change is hard. See bethesda this is what happens when you give the kit to any shmuck, NDA gets broken.

Jesus, is GTAV/Online really that bad?

I also heard that because it's an open beta instead of being all experienced mod makers, the Beta forums are full of questions on how to even use the tools.

I heard that as well. Do you want dipshits? Because that's how you get dipshits, Bethesda!
Since Beth made it so easy to sign up for it, make sure you have the dlc beta applied to your account then reply YES to the Creation Kit beta thread, everyone and their dog has done it so they can be "expert mod makers" because the CK gives magic powers that make you a modding god and can do ANYTHING.

I'm waiting for its release(when that ever happens) for the Creation Kit Lite and the Creation Kit Pro with people asking "How much does it cost to unlock all of the Creation Kit features?". I'm probably wrong though and maybe they are Benevolent as their fans make them out to be.

It is how i experienced it since 2013.
It sure had its ups, but downs have become prevalent or weren't taken care of. Cheaters and disconnects are a eternal problem.
Also, GTA V was completely forgotten by Rockstar in favor of Online, much like support for PS3 and XBOX360. (want new updates? Buy new console, new copy of the game and annual subscription for a gaming service for 60 bucks!)
I am a PC player, but for consoles, that's a huge ripoff.

As for G.E.C.K., i see too a lot of purchasable add-ins, the monetary idea is too tempting for them.
Wasteland Workshop was a probe, though, whether the playerbase will gobble it up or not. Reviews show the experiment failed - now it's up to Bethesda how they change it.

Risewild said that the Fallout 4 GECK was more or less the same as Skyrims CK, I think, though I think that was second hand information.

Do you think the G.E.C.K. will resemble the Skyrim Creation Kit or will they incorporate something that might resemble the settlement crafting system?
Like the Build Your Own Vault mod?
Given that every single past game has pretty much the exact same kit I would say yes, it will look exactly like it. You have to remember these are almost the tools they use to develop the game, they only rip out the third party bits because those can't be distributed. If they were to change it to look like the shitty settlement crafting system, there would be riots. People already hate how clunky that system is and if they made the modding tools that way it wouldn't turn out good.

I don't get 'why' Bethesda would want to suddenly turn villainously greedy though.
I mean, look'it: http://www.statisticbrain.com/skyrim-the-elder-scrolls-v-statistics/
Development and marketing budget: $85 Million
Profit: $1,390,000,000
They made 16x more profit than what they put into the game's development and marketing.
I just don't get it. Isn't that enough? Isn't getting 16 times the amount of money you put into the game back in profit enough?

And that's 'just' for Skyrim.
They got enough money to theoretically produce 16 Skyrim's. And 4 years later here's Fallout 5, most likely raking in even more money.

If that's not enough then again I have to ask; Where the fuck does all of the money go to when it comes to Bethesda? What, does Toddie Boi need to go into surgery and have his colon opened up so that the doctor can coat his shit with gold so it'll be prettier when it comes out of him or something? Seriously. 16 times profit! How the fuck can you get that kind of money and still go "....We need more."?

Elder scroll online is disaster that zenimax not predicted, while it also damn expensive to maintain.
or have you do not know what zenimax, the parrent company of bethesda, is? just look at how their sue john carmack or very small developer of minecraft based game that use word "scroll" in the title

oh, and its one of Board of Directors were brother of donald trump

It wasn't utterly disaster however it wasn't profitable enough as well. They tried monthly subscription model only to accept defeat and turn the game into F2P. It sold well but it didn't took the place of WoW as they hoped.

It was just SWTOR all over again.

It was Zenimax being cheap and stupid. To think just because Skyrim was a massive success people would leave World of Warcraft and start paying monthly for TESO (Typical AAA publisher logic that fails everytime)...

However i have to admit TESO is a good MMO and almost certainly better than WoW and SWTOR. Still it was a very greedy attempt and they barely salvaged the initial failure.
