Junk food actually helps, at least with filling your stomach. Garbage games do nothing but waste your time.
shooting and killing shit with braindead easy mechanics for 30 minutes after work doesn't sound like a waste of my time tbh

Shooting and killing things is the best way to unwind after a hard days toil. It saves many men from wife beating or kicking the cat.

But it is. Why waste time playing garbage when you can actually play a good game and have a much better experience? In fact, sitting on your couch relaxing is also a much better use of your time because at least then you are not supporting shitty companies.

because sometimes i like turning my brain off and watching things explode without having to put much thought into why they are exploding. plus i have gamepass so its not as if im outright buying it for $60

It's ok to enjoy this shit. You just can't act like you are a Glittering Gem if you do. You are something like a fake copy. The Cubic Zirconia version of the Glittering Gem. Something inferior. You got no standards, you got no principles. You eat shit and enjoy it. Be proud of it. Just don't try to act like you play real RPG's when you eat shit your breath stinks.

May I ask why? "Deep" CRPGs are alongside my favourite genres of gaming, but at the same time I find a bit hard to simply start playing one of them everytime, I need to have my mind fully clear to properly start and enjoy some of those, especially the more dialogue heavy ones. So what a person playing more simple and "shitty" games has to do with their ability to play the "real shit"...

You are a Jew that eats pork. I mean a Glittering Gem is someone that hates Bethesda style games and likes real RPG's. If you play them then you are not that person.

I don't despise their games; I despise how they defaced and sullied the Fallout series IP with their one-trick pony design philosophy, and utter hubris after the fact.

I'd buy and play a Bethesda made Lands of Lore reboot, or a TES style version of any Palladium Books RPG setting.

The problem with buying their games is then Obsidian makes games like them instead of making isometric games like they should. One day Larian or Owlcat will make some shitty FPS RPG and you will know the tides have turned.

FPS RPGs that try to copy the original isometric ones never worked that well for me, I think the closest one got to it was with Fallout NV, and I still think the worst part of that game is it's combat. It isn't bad by any means, it is actually quite a satisfying game on fps terms but the way you build your character doesn't reflect enough over how he actually performs in combat. And somehow modern Obsidian managed to learn all the wrong leasons and transfered it to Outer Worlds, combat skills seem to manage even less (the whole character building aspect sucks) but they fucking created a combat less satisfying and fun than a 11yo game...

It set my expectations very low to Avowed, considering how much of an amateur game OW felt to me.

Yeah, pretty much. They feel like more of a commitment to play. You have to have the time and mood for them. Usually I'll probably just do a tabletop session with peeps at that point.

You know, Toronto is actually right. One cannot be a Glittering Gem of Hate like that.
If you don't know what a Glittering Gem of Hatred is (Glittering Gem for short) you should read these:
Part 1
Part 2
Heh, such a classic article. Way ahead of it's time, and I guess people then weren't ready to accept the truth about Bethesda.
And you know, I wish this became more of a popularized phrase that's used for a variety of things in entertainment. I could think of many movies, TV shows, and even musicians/bands that have PLENTY of Glittering Gems within their own fanbases. Heck I've tried using it, one example was to describe what the Babymetal fandom went through in 2018 and the aftermath of what happened that year.
