Surfs miscellaneous art dump

Meh I will just use this thread as my "art" dump now...

Does this mean work on "What remains" has stopped? :(

Nah, I wrote this "art dump" post because previously, the thread was only about the pictures on the first page of the thread and I didn't want to open a new one just when I post a new image like I did on the previous page before. ;)

Ah, yes. I should have edited my previous post.

I found your little cache of awesomeness on the Codex forums, and made the conclusion that you were very much still alive. Good times.

In terms of 3D artistery, what sort of work would you be needing? I recently made some pine trees for this HL2 mod I pop some moles in from time to time. With the right render setup they might be of use to you? Or perhaps something completely different?

They look awesome! Not even talking about my own game only, you should post them here on the Fallout general modding board so others can have these good models too:

http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49812&start=1140

Because everything else goes against my philosophy as in all assets that I make/receive should be available to everyone else aswell, especially in a relatively small but dedicated mod scene as we have in the fallout boards here. So please post it there aswell to support the other great fallout mods, not only mine. ;)

As for more 3d models, unfortunately I already have lots of trees made in the last few days (what a coincidence) and decided that I want to animate lots of scenery objects, like I did here:

But it would be really cool if you could make some basic "rubble", junk, undefinable stones, small chunks of burnt and twisted metal on ground, burnt remains of buildings etc. :) If you have some experience in character modelling I would gladly send you our base model we use for What Remains too (including the animations). ;)

Did you make those trees in the YouTube-vid, Solar?
'Cause they look totally awesome, especially the second tree in the slightly different position, the leaves on that one move just right.

I had already seen most of the content you've posted here, but also I've found some "new" stuff :P Everything's very nice, as always.

Some "artfag" stuff I did out of boredom some hours ago. I recorded a guitarloop that was subtle enough to be put under some naive video and skimmed through my material. Nothing fancy and it has nothing to do with Fallout, postnuclear fantasies or anything like that. :P Just thought I'd share it here, I find it pretty relaxing.

Hi there surf solar, this picture i have quoted is very cool and wastelandish.

Would you by any chance, time permitting, make a 800x600 version of this picture as it'd make an awesome title screen for a mod im working on for fallout tactics titled fallout: THE WASTES.

Maybe add some brightness to it.

P.S. what remains is looking dam fine.

Hi Ox-Skull (a fellow FOnliner ;) ) - I would gladly help you with your mod.

Unfortunately, the PC I stored the source .psd file of this picture on has long kicked the bucked, I don't have them anymore. :( I have, however the original photography of it in high resolution, it looks very boring unedited though. If you want, I can try to recreate that effect, but I can't promise it will look exactly the same as the one you quoted. Alternatively, I can take the picture you quoted and workaround the size issue by adding an interesting frame around it stretching it to the desired resolution. Your choice. ;)

On another note, and after approx. 482948190481 iterations of art design, here is some first WIP screen of a MUD/Text adventure with minimal graphics I have been working on the past few months when I was in the mood. It is basing on the FOnline engine (people who worked with it may remember the lines of code and the general structure, heh)

it is obviously still WIP and I doubt I will ever really release it since it is just 6 rooms to explore and navigating (all via textcommands) is clumsy as hell, but well..

Pretty awesome all around. I am anxious to see more for What Remains.

Some area I am working on right now.

Swamps with lumiscent objects all around Lake Michigan. It is supposed to look as if big trees cover this area from all around, 's why it looks so dark. I will have to tone down the ligthing too, it looks too much like a Dungeons and Dragons corrupted elven forest. ;)

@Toront Ranye - you will get PM soon. :)

Thanks to all the others giving feedback!

Thanks guys! Here are some more:

Note that its not likely they will appear as they are in my game, I only post them here because I think they make nice little scenes. ;) (for example no enclave guys etc)

Awesome. Just awesome.

Is that just me or What Remains turned to be a promising Fonline mod with a new atmosphere and a new storyline into a totally new game with plenty of gameplay improvements and excellent new art?

I saw in moddb a demo was planned soon? So, hmm... how soon  ?
