Talking Heads

Jotisz,
I'll add some subjective opinion, if I can. For me:
- Vic's shirt is too white and clean. He's living in a postapo-world, being imprisoned by slavers for many days; so I think, his clothes must be grimy, ragged and very old.
- A picture is too bright. Vic's skin looks like a plastic now, maybe some darker light with deeper shadows would be better.
I still like a shape of this 3D model, your TH almost perfectly fit into my own imagination of Vic.

Vic keeps looking better and better Jotisz, but his skin does look a bit too plastic-y, some darker light might help, as said above.

Yeah the posters above me are right, I think more dominant shadows are needed especially around the nose (just compare the amount of light around the nose between your work and Contie's)

A head built from FaceGen, then rendered in Lightwave, with Ardesh's shoulders. About 2 hours work. There are no animations for this character, I was just testing FaceGen's potential for building talking heads for Fallout - looks like it will work quite well with the right apparel and lighting.

Looks nice and the body fits pretty good. Now with animations. :p

Nice one it looks fitting though I would put something on his head a cap or a similar thing. I'm looking forward to the anims too

Very nice work Pixote. And only two hours? Hmm, maybe my dream of every major character in each town having a talking head will come true someday. :D

This dude was just a test...ideally you would need to give the guy some hair, and a unique set of clothes, etc. For the best results these characters need to be rendered in a 3d software, that way you can fine tune the lighting. At the moment I would rather built new critters, but you never know, I might try to finish a talking head one day.

I rather see new critters too to be honest. Not that i don't like all the new faces but I think the new critter are more usefull :) that's my opinion ofcourse

Ok, so I think Casidy looks weird, so I pimped him:

I love all the talking heads in here.
The ones that Continuummade are just like originals. If I did't read the topic, only saw pictures, I would say "wtf? Where are they in game, why I didn't met them?!".
Others are also great. I like how Joe looks. Vic needs a little more work, but I think in the end he will be cool-looking TH.

I have an idea how you could make your work a lot easier. Do you know the program called CrazyTalk? I can show you one video, it's my former class master. All I used was his static picture, background and this program. I'm sure it could be used to make heads talk and I'm sure it'd look ok.
Here's the video (you won't understand it but sure you can get the picture - also notice countenance change)

Update on Vic's head showing the anims (note palete isn't applied correctly)

A try for a combat armor and a super mutant which I made for a different purpose

Pesonally I'm Ok with Vic right now but since there were plenty of other idea for his appearance especially for the face so as soon as I'm done with his frms I'm gonna upload them with the blend file so if someone want to make changes he or she will be able.
About the other two head they are just tests.

great work on the vic head, man!! I think his face is somewhat to light and maybe needs to be more dirty.

Yes, that's an excellent progress on Vic, Jotisz.
Now I have a last suggestion: I don't like the black hair. Vic is too old and the gray hair you have used in the first concept looks better. (but nevermind, it's only my personal feeling)
Very good work, keep it up!

Here are my comments... Ignore them if you think they're stupid.

I always imagined Vic looking a lot like Andy Sipowicz from TV series NYPD Blue. I also think that you should reduce the shininess of his head.

Vic's and the combat armor girl's skin is too white for someone who spends a lot of time in the sun.

The super mutant looks a little too cartoonish and non-realistic compared to FO1 and FO2 super mutants.

Other than that, well done. I admire your dedication.

Ok so I will try to make constructive criticism. Don't take it too seriously or to yourself. I know that this work isn't easy at all.

So let's start with Vic. As few people said before, his skin is too bright and reflect too much of light. Also he looks way too clean for a trader travelling through wasteland. Make his face a little dirty, skin darker without light reflexes.
Also his hair colour need more tones. Human hair has realy many color tones, from bright to dark, so you need to work a little on it. Also his hair is too dense: they are short but still you can't see skin underneath it. It's not realistic.
His clothes... Well I think that shirt just doesn't fit there. I think it should be more like this:

death-note-L-made-by_Yumi-55.jpg
[/spoiler:2719558b39]
But ofcourse dirty, maybe with some holes and stiches on it.
The vest should be like mechanic vest, with lots of pockets and other stuff. Something like:

or

columbia-fishing-vest.jpg

I will write about other TH's later, when I will have more time.

[EDIT]
OK, I have some time now, so I will say something about CA girl.
Well first of all, I think her nose is little too big (too wide?) and she is a LITTLE too pale.
About the armor: Well, you should change the texture a little. It should be some "colouress green", or "green with lack of color" ;P
And I guess it shouldn't reflect so much light .
The helmet has a little bad shape. Should be more like nowadays bullet-proof helmets:

Also the visor should be changed. Now it looks like a gogles, but it should be more like part of helmet visor. Something like this (but with smaller visor ofc):
