Tattoo (and piercings) Thread

I might get something like this one day. Just regular tires though not that gangster shit.

Thats the only tattoo I could get that would make sense for me.

I will be getting a Vault/Pip/Blonde haired boy tattoo soon when I get the caps. I also want a Phoenix tattoo for some reason. Rebirth and all that jazz.

While tattoos are understandable (they look good on a pumped up, gym male body), in my opinion piercings are just awful. Especially when girls get them. How more ugly can you get with those things?

That sounded....homosexual.

I like a bit of metal on a ladie. A bit. Can be anywhere really as long as its not too many all over.

Lol thanks, that made me feel a lot better.

So THATS what this thread was about? Taking the time out of our day to lambast over tattoo ownership? I'm in!

Nah. Or it shouldn't be. Tattoos are your own business, and especially well-done, subtle tattoos can look really good. They're certainly not a big deal to me, personally. I could see myself getting a simple tattoo on my upper arm some day, but not necessarily anything more.

That said, uh, maybe it's just me, but Luna_V3's tatoo pattern just looks really bad to me. Cheap-looking, inconsistent, ill-fitting, different styles, crowded, and then outright bad ones like like Max Schreck or "winning". All "shit on her face" doesn't help much either.

Maybe it's a thing in the tattoo world to have your body crowded out by different style tattoos. I just don't see the appeal. This was it's like a cacophony of fairly uninteresting ideas. If the body is one canvas, it should have a consistent, aesthetically pleasing style. Wry? Ruling?

PS: speaking of winners

Then again, a real winner...

It's not just you. Looking at her photos, some of them were downright cringe worthy. Especially that "winning"...

I've seen some good tattoos, but I find that many people I see with them it just doesn't look too good. Kind of a shame. But, hey, whatever people want to do, whatever floats your boat, all that jazz...

Tattoos can be sexy or just unfitting, always depending on the wearer and the tattooartist and the motif (tribal tattoos...) I don't like it when the entire body is covered in ink.

I plan to get an "eye" on my chest where the heart is. Probably some geographical shapes on the arm aswell later on.

I'm very fond of you, Brother. I am mostly in agreement.

I compare tattoos to food frequently: There's a big difference between gourmet lobster at a swank restaurant and a Whopper from Burger King... just as there's a difference between being tattooed by Horiyoshi III and getting a bit of flash from a seedy walk-in shop. But hey, if you like your whoppers, big macs, tribals, Tazmanian devils and ubiquitous star designs, by all means. If you're happy with them, then they're fine; it's your body after all.

I must admit that I am a self confessed tattoo snob (my colleagues and friends endlessly tease me about this). While I'm happy that someone else is happy with their stuff, I personally choose to have one artist that tattoos in one style, to do my bodysuit with one theme... He's got one hell of a job to cover up some of my youthful mistakes though!

TL;DR: To each their own, even if you have shit taste.

This is gourmet tattooing:
Somewhat SFW, some very tasteful naked bottoms.

Horiyasu is one of my top five horishi.

I want my ladies clean, no ink, no metal, and smooth legs. Yeah, I'm pathetic I know.

I agree. They can "get away" with a subtle little tatt if it truly means something, or it's original and clever in some way, but I'm put off by most common tatoos and piercings.

Fucking copy cat.

@voof: God damn, the internet is just littered with bad tattoo photos.

Thats what I was trying to convey in that post. Sadly, sarcasm rarely translates well in text form. At least when I type it.

My new GF (haha I know I can't believe it either) is straight out of Katawa Shoujo. Scars all over her body from various surgeries. So I asked her about her only tatoo (a crescent moon on her shoulderblade) and she said she got it because she wanted at least one mark on her skin that she decided on her own to have. I thought that was cute.

It's been my experience that women with lots of tattoos and piercings are crazy as fuck. One might say that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but you can usually form a fairly accurate idea about a persons personality by how they dress themselves.

I'm sure there are well-adjusted, mild mannered ladies out there covered in tattoos and piercings, but like a well-spoken 'Juggalo'; I've yet to meet one.
