The Dark Knight

I know it was intended to be so but the character did not seem developed enough to me. There was no background or any motives behind his actions, which was probably done on purpose but I'd like to know SOMETHING about him.
Given your avatar, maximaz, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but no one knows for sure what the origins of the Joker are. He's been given an origin story many times throughout the comics but it's always conflicting. Like in the movie, he never tells the same story twice. He once said, "If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice." He's so far gone that he may not even know his past himself. He has never been more developed than anything but an "agent of chaos." To this day Batman has never learned so much as his name and his motives have never made any sense to anyone but himself and the movie kept with this. I think it was in good taste to leave his origins a mystery, as they are in the comics.

I thought Batmans voice was a bit over the top. I mean, he sounds like a 80-year old fat chain smoker.

Otherwise, awesome movie.

You all have a point but I'd still like to know more than what the movie gave away. Not an origins tale but definitely something more. That's the feeling I'm left with after watching it for the first time. It might change after the second viewing but right now I'm sticking to it.

The Bat-tech in the movie bothered me the most.

The batarangs are gay. I'll give you that.

And they're not even used that much. Which is also bad.

OHhh, how about the new Rachel? I don't care what anyone says, she was painful to look at. She wasn't just ugly, she was gross.
Spoilers:
Ja too bad they didn't kill her off or anything. wink wink nudge nudge say no more say no more

As for the complaints pertaining to Batman not getting enough screen time, and not being likeable enough. Someone else said it: he's more so the star, not the protaganist. And since when is Batman supposed to be liked? He's supposed to be a more or less humorless, rigid, law enforcer.

Batman Begins was Batman's movie. The Dark Knight is more focused on Gotham and the story of Harvey Dent. People keep on saying this movie should've been called the Joker for one reason or another. Even if Joker does have more screen time does anyone else find this ludicrious? Does the story of the Dark Knight have to be mostly about what Batman does or can it be about something grander?
Spoilers:
As for Twoface's death: I missed the part where they checked his pulse and the funeral scene. I think I should see the movie again before I make a decision.

As for Venom's death: that's gay. I didn't see him get sucked into anything. I saw him get fucking annihilated. He gets disintigrated from this dimension and survives, yet Twoface can't survive a fall.

Christian Bale is just expressing his broken dream of singing for Cannibal Corpse through the character of Batman.

It's easy to miss. You have to watch it really close and preferably in slow motion. You blink, you miss it. I didn't mean to imply that he was actually getting "sucked in" like through a portal but rather that he jumped quickly through the flames at the last second just before Peter looked away. Besides, Harry took one of those things point blank to the face and he survived. If Venom were dead, we would have been given a body, not a spin-off movie, which I will link again:

They didn't check his pulse, and the funeral scene was more of a "memorial" snippet. It's as easy to argue that he lived as it is that he died. In the shooting script the words "his neck is snapped like a twig" are used, though.

I don't remember this because I focused too much on the shitty parts of the movie (the whole thing) after I walked out.

A DVD club sent me the DVD because I didn't pick a title in time, so I might check it out tomorrow. I've only seen the movie once and I just kind of want to forget it ever happened.

That Venom movie is going to be a fucking abortion, by the way. $20 says Eddie Brock doesn't feature, it has no continuity to the Spider-Man universe on film, and Carnage or Shriek will be villains. God, that's going to suck so hard.

Ten years ago I would've been so hyped about a Venom movie. Fuck, I was so hyped about Spider-Man 3. I don't even like thinking about it.

I wouldn't argue that Venom is dead. More like I'm saying the incompetent director made it seem that way for cheap twist purposes. Killing Venom off after introducing him just 15 minutes before would have to be the worst decision ever made in the history of decisions. Also fuck Sam Raimi.

If you think about it, Venom's role should've been more like Twoface's in the Dark Knight: not flaunted in the trailers at all, and a pleasant surprise three quarters into the film.
That's what the Dark Knight trailer did for me and my sister. It didn't ruin the movie at all. I wasn't expecting Twoface appearance even though I knew already Harvey Dent's fate.

For the record the Dark Knight raped Ironman. Ironman is by the books generic superhero crap, not that it was a bad movie. Hell, next to Spiderman it stands tall. "Just because you are a character doesn't mean you have character."

If only Batman talked like he was the singer of a screamcore band in the animated series...

Wow, it's now imdb's #1 movie of all time.

It's #3 of all time voted by the users, right underneath Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather, but it is #1 on the box office right now.

I prefer these Batmans than the ones in 90's.

Same for The Joker. Heath's Joker got bigger balls than Jack's Joker

As much as the originals have more of a childhood memory kinda feel for me, I have to agree this latest adaptation of Batman is one of the greatest, I hope they try not to over milk this series though, after movie 3 they (being movie series's in general) always seem to be bad and the good idea's are gone and dry.

Yes, like me, I have respect for the previous Batman movies. They remind me of my childhood :)
Now I'm older, so this new Batman is like specially made for my age :D

 ,
The Vault Dweller

My friend sent me that picture a couple of days ago, I could not stop laughing, but whats scarier is why can I actually see the Joker saying something like that?

I still think I should've been casted as The Joker instead.
