The Elder Scrolls Online

It's hard for me to imagine being less interested in anything than I am in an Elder Scrolls MMO.

Though revisiting Vvardenfell with better graphics would be neat.

theres allready a mod for that, to go with oblivion.
i never tried it tho, cus the FAQ mentioned a whole list of annoying errors and bugs

Yeah I have no clue why they are doing this, not to mention the countless fantasy MMOs out there already and the fact that the D&D MMO itself (theoretically what should be the greatest MMO ever) has been relegated to F2P insignificance.

For as much as Beth has twisted the fallout series a Fallout Online would at least be something different compared to the other MMO games. The only company that offers something other than WoW clones is the one that has made EVE Online (the one making the vampire: the masquerade MMO by the way..)

Now the Vampire: The Masquerade one I am interested in, but Elder Scrolls Online... Another generic fantasy MMO grindfest? Screw that.

I mean was Skyrim that good anyways? Looked just like an oblivion with better graphics to me..

Well, in my opinion Skyrim and Oblivion both sucked, but that is just me.

Well of course the newer games of a franchise are always worse than the older ones. We're on NMA aren't we?

I don´t know why but I really like Oblivion for some reason. . .

I haven't played Skyrim, but the annoying level-scaling? Don't remind me, please...

Its saving grace seems to be its mods, i just found an old PC copy I had the other day and installed it, and since then I haven't even played it yet, instead checking out all the mods out there.

they kinda do, as RPGs that is. But at least Skyrim sucks much less then Oblivion. But honestly to deliver something better then Oblivion ... was sure not the most difficult thing to achieve.

If someone likes hiking and killing stuff with his sword then Skyrim is sure his game.

The quests would be horribly boring I think. Bethesda already lack the capability to write believable characters, and I doubt the transition into an mmo would help with quest variety and quality.

to be fear its a different team working on it compared to Skyrim/Oblivion which is Todds love child.

They have some people with experience in MMOs on the project.

The problem I see here though? Todd an a few others are quite high in the hierarchy. Thing is you can be the best artist with the best creativity around. If they tell you to make "dumped down stuff" ... then this is what you have to deliver. I have literally to deal with that on a daly basis as graphic designer ...

Joy of joys.... another WoW clone that'll go "freemium" 8 - 12 months after release and probably die about 12 months after that.

If Star Wars: Old Republic can't compete with WoW, this sure as hell won't (SW:TOR recently announced it lost about 25% of its player base since launch).

MMO's haven't evolved since WoW came out and this looks pretty dull. MMO's need to be taken out behind the shed and shot.

Indeed, I couldn't walk get trough a single session without seeing new things I want to see modded.

But story-wise I didn't mind it at all either. I enjoyed it. Though I'm a weird gamer who finishes games because they have a great setting or art design. For example I finished Hellgate: London, I like Assassin's creed 1 over Assassin's Creed 2 etc. And I don't know why but I really liked Oblivion's medieval but different aesthethic. That is with mods to make it look less like it's a plastic toy world.
