I remember. We had a couple of fatmen that ended WWII. What are you talking about?

So far, the .223, the 10mm handgun, the gatling laser, the minigun/vindicator/avenger, the pulse rifle, pulse pistol, the Alien blaster.... all of these do not exist.

    However, the Fatman DOES exist.

I put the 10mm on there as it is a super rare weapon that donkey punches people cold. However, it is common and does little damage in fallout universe. Strange.

OH, yes, the unheard of weapon of an idiot era:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khyZI3RK2lE

What a rape weapon. There are other shots of it with a smaller stick at the end. these are beefed up versions. The smaller stick is more badass.

Also, the video might be wrong. I am under the impression after reading a bit about nukes for a while that this was never tested. It seems we only tested artillery cannon nuke rounds and never the personal nuker in any capacity.

LOL! yes, I enjoyed that bit of it as well.

Now, here's a sick weapon that does exist. I really want one bad.

HK G11. MMmmm.... I noticed that it looks as if it is firing one shot, but oh no, that's three in fraction of a second. .... moan...

It doesn't do little damage in Fallout universe. It does little damage in SPECIAL mechanics because somehow they decided that their cRPG that they announced as a GURPS cRPG should be unrealistic, despite that GURPS is one of the most realistic systems out there.
Anyway, still it did more damage than 9mm and less damage than .44, so it wasn't that bad.

yeah, as mentioned i know this thing comes up every single time that f3 monstrosity is mentioned...and if the f3 one had been anything like the real one i might be a bit more ok with it..long set up, could shoot about 2 miles?..but it is nothing like it. it doesn't take forever to set up, and its range is crap.

back to the real one though...
you described it being almost hand held? if you know of a picture of a single person carrying that thing or setting it up themselves, please point me to it because i have yet to see any picture or video of anything less than 3 people working on it. there is an image of someone "inspecting" one by themselves, but as far as i have read that image isn't of them setting it up or firing it themselves.
even the SADM which was based on the same warhead weighed 150 pounds by itself and was meant to be deployed with 2 people. and that was a "backpack."
now sure we can say, one person pulls the trigger, but then we could go on to say that if one removed the safety protocols from a titan II that it could be fired by a single person. of course you also referred to it as a rocket launcher and the davy (or variations of it) were recoilless rifles ...so maybe i don't know about this one, in which case i'm interested...but the video links are all pointing to the davy...

a hand held auto grenade launcher in fallout? sure why not. sure its ugly but i'll reserve the rest of my judgment until i see how much ammo is laying around for it and how it behaves. but davy crockett is like the fat man launcher...no way. and nukes in fallout were never something to be lobbed around like a toy...oh wait there is a junk toy launcher as well .... :aiee:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vcV-QyiM5M now if only he would pick that up and fire it from the hip...

I blame id for that. A minigun with the same rate of fire of the real one would put the BFG and the Fatman to shame as end-of-the-world in-game weapon.

you see there is minigun in rl
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XM214_Microgun

    let's put it like this

minigun was designed 1960. so it is pretty logical to imagine it in alternate future of fallout universe

and we all know this is not just ranting about weapons in NV. it just raised questions how many details are gonna be misplaced again in next fo title

No, since the Davey Crockett is on a whole larger scale.
There's a difference between a crew-served fucking nuclear recoilless rifle (that had the bad habbit of radiating the crew that fired it if winds weren't favorable) firing sub-kt nukes at ranges of 2 to 5km and a man portable nuclear slingshot lobbing a friggin' nuke to 50m away...

And yes, we've posted that ad nauseum on this forum before, you could've done a simple forum search to answer your own bloody question.

So no, the fatboy personal nuke does NOT exist.

I'm expecting the announcement that the grenade launcher MG can be loaded with plasma grenades... To melt faces, etc.

    Or alternatively, teddybears.

As if Browning M2 (expecially bullets with depleted uranium) and Gauss Minigun were not enough :| They can make any super-blaster weapon, coz it's ALTERNATE universe, but why should one RPG character use it?

Grenade minigun is something, more fitting Battlefield or Call of Duty series in futuristic setting - destroying bunkers and razing whole buildings, you know...

i dont think an automatic grenade launcher would be too bad tbh (similar to the rate of fire of today's automatic grenade launcher) but when they say 'grenade minigun' i have this horrible image of some retarded weapon thats firing about 8 grenades a second. the kind of thing that someone normally mods into a game just for shits and giggles.

except if the fatman would have worked like the M-65 recoiless nuclear rifle. To say that we talked about that a lot on the Behesoft forums (you might remember?) and quite a lot agreed that such a weapon could be fun, if done in a more serious and realistic way.

The way it works now its obvoiusly just ridiculous and for the "lulz" only. Its kinda sad. I would have liked to see a more serious approach on nuclear weapons and energy in Fallout in general particularly regarding weapons.

I think it would have been better to give the player the chance to destroy Megaton with the Fatman and give it the size it had when you blow up Megaton of course with some potential risks. But well. It is what it is.

Well, it would have to use some more powerful ammo then and wouldn't be usable for characters with strength less than 10.
Hand-held Miniguns having so small damage is pretty realistic, because otherwise the recoil would be completely unmanageable.

Yeah, the fact that someone can put fatman instead of .223 for example blows my mind.

I didn't say "it doesn't exist", i said "isn't weapons like M2 already too overpowered for being operated BY SINGLE MAN?". Knowing some real story, i can tell that req. ST9 isn't enough to carry AND shoot such weapon. And now they want to give us MORE cumbersome and overpowered weapon. They want us think, that main PC still can operate with this

What next? Multi-barrelled hi-speed nuclear warhead launcher with laser sight? It's not a Fallout, it's UT 2004, man...

Always wanted to mod the Fatman so it had the same blast radius as the Davey Crocket, though never got around to doing it as no one would download it.
