The Guns and Ammo Thread

If you have plenty of ammo it looks like your ready for the zombie apocalypse. Nice collection. I wish I had a collection like that. I have too many hobbies to start a new one though... :(

I have a dresser in the spare bedroom (the gun room) of my apartment that holds all my spare parts, tools and ammo. i have no less than 50 rounds per caliber, and for the rifles average around 150-200 rounds each.

and those are just the guns i have here.. the rest of my guns are sitting in my fathers gun cabinets in texas.

I'll pick em up eventually, but right now i only have one gun cabinet. and my guns all fit in it minus my carry pistol (pistol on the left, and my home defense gun, (2nd shotgun, the short black one) those are always kept loaded and if i'm not at work, the carry pistol is either on me or on it's shelf in my living room, and the shotgun is always stashed conveniently yet concealed in the apartment.

I live in a nice neighborhood, but it's not that far from a really bad part of town, armed robberies do happen here, usually at night.. which sucks for whomever decided that my apartment looks tempting.

Do you have to keep you're guns locked in a box or a locker in your house when you're not using them?

I have a gun safe

Good idea, is it bolted to the floor?

Safes are great, mine says "explosive proof" on the outside and looks like a refrigerator. Mostly because it is a chemical freezer with a lock on it and armor plating. I'll post pictures later when I take pictures of my new gun; Marlin 30-30 lever action I bought at a gunshow that I got free admission for.

Friend of a friend let me and said friend in the back door for the vendors.

So how was your day?

Went to the gunshow last Sunday. Bought much ammo.

Alsoplustoo - bought an Romanian AK krinkov in .223 and a Remington 870 with an 19 1/2" barrel and a 7 shot tube extension with pistol grip.

ps - Also bought a Randall damascus fighter (sheath knife).

pps - YeeHaw!

Beautiful collections. I would love to have room to start a collection of my own but I just can't justify spending the money.

Just got my PAL (Possession and Acquisition License) in Canada, so I'll be obtaining:

Remington 870 & some kind of .308.

Owning handguns in Canada is a severe pain in the ass, so I'm not interested. I'm just a hunter.

Elissar, question:

i see a lot of adverts for chromed bolt 98Ks in the USA, but i have NEVER EVER seen any of those in the european mainland.

what's all that about?

Do they make rifles for left handed people too?
yes, they make bolt actions specifically for lefties.

but overall, most guns can be fired without much issues by lefties.

i shoot pistols right and rifles left.

nowadays, more and more rifles are becoming lefty friendlier or even fully ambidextrous. there are some exceptions though... what exactly are you looking for, maybe we can point you in the right direction?

Honestly dont know, mine not chromed, just clean.

well, chromed or not, it's odd to see bare metal on the butt of the stock, the firing pin remover, the safety, bolt handle etc.

i could understand a completely polished up bolt (mine is blued, except for the guide, or whatever you guys call it), but the rest just doesn't make much sense.

not that it's ugly or anything, but it looks odd to have half the back in polished metal and the rest in very dark blueing. :)

euhm, a .223 Krinkov? talk about shitty ballistics...

Have I ever mentioned what a tool you are?

Only a geekazoid cocktard would think ballistics is the be-all and end-all of shooting. Sometimes people just shoot for fun.

If I was worried about ballistics, why would I buy a rifle with an 8.5" barrel? It's 1:7 twist rate means it digest my preferred 75grain boattails very well, and has a muzzle velocity of 1800 fps.

Plenty good enough for what is basically a play toy for shits and giggles. But don't let that stop you from being a pill.

ps - Elissar, how dare you own a weapon that suaside does not approve of!!

i never said any of that, you big hunk of troll bait...

if you wanted a fun plinker, you should've gone for a 5.45 Krink or an AK105 imo. keep your 5.56 for something worthy. ;)

i said it was odd, not that i didn't approve.

i have no problem with him owning a Mauser 98K...

Look what my girlfriend found on her balcony. She lives in a flat that belonged to an old woman, so before her living there, there was no one in the house for ten years. Before that, the old hag lived there all her life. So no one cleaned the balcony for a long long time. That's why i don't believe the bullet it's just some novelty item with no powder. That and the fact that the bullet is not too nose heavy, there is something in the case. Also, the primer is not used. I find it pretty cool since owning this is illegal.
