(Just a short laundry list of my firepower)

The Kel-Tec was the product of a summer job. Nice gun

I got the CZ-52 out of a magazine for $200; after everything was said and done. (Hate california)

The 870 and SKS were given to me by my grandfather 6 years ago.

1911's are my favorite pistol of all time, but it's not as feasible for patrol duty.

SWAT would be a different story, since I'd be carrying it safety off and ready to rock. Glock's and XD's are point and shoot, much better for a panic situation. Hi capacity magazines can really come in handy when the fat hits the fire.

Hydra shoks own standard hollows.

For sure. After I buy a PPK i'm probably gonna get a glock 22. I'm just not a big fan of double action only. I like single or both. For safety when I'm carrying mine i just don't keep a round chambered.

BTW Don't you work for Boder Patrol in AZ?

No, I'm going to apply for them soon, but I want to see if Vegas pans out.

The PPK is the perfect backup pistol, and concealed carry.

There's no need to keep a round unchambered in a DAO, or safe action pistol, just use the proper style holster. Cover the trigger guard and you'll never have an accidental discharge. Unless you're an idiot or something.

The Glock 22 is one of the finest pistols available. If it wasn't, there's wouldn't be as many police agencies issuing them.

I would always recommend the XD or USP over it, but really only for the ergonomics, there's really no reliability or accuracy concerns between any of them.

I'm not a big fan of glock, really. I have limited firsthand knowlege though. Ive put about 300 rounds through a Glock 17; and I'm really not impressed. Their are better weapons out their than Glocks. I'm inlove with my Kel-Tec. I got it for $499 New. Its compact, accurate, and just a good gun.

Well the 1911 has a grip saftey so even if the hammer is back, you can't pull the trigger without having a grip on the gun but i like to be extra safe - I don't carry it around that much anyway.

The PPK is the perfect backup pistol, and concealed carry.

Exactly why I want one. Plus it looks cool as shit.

The XD has the backstrap safety as well, along with the glock style trigger safety. It won't fire unless you want it to.

Kel-Tec? What are you some kind of gang banger or something? All underpowered calibres, shoddy construction. All around worthless. $499? That's more than my XD, more than my buddies USP, and more than any Glock ever made (LE discount, so I don't know retail cost on Glock). You got ripped off.

Kahr is the preferred concealed pistol manufacturer.

Ugly as hell, too.

Dove, keep supporting the economy of Croatia. XD really is a great gun.

hey Stompie, is that SKS of yours modded/updated or is it still oldskool russian?

I love guns just as much as you guys, but, my views are pretty strict.

I respect my country's decision as far as I can remember, much before I was born, since now and what looks like the next 5 to 10 years to restrict guns to military and police personell.

I live in a country with a high rate of theft, crime, and prostitutuion, corruption, but, only 5 or 6 crimes were commited last year with the use of a gun.

With guns going to civies, I would expect much more of this, and every rich guy can do anything to you, but if the all have guns, they can shoot you from they're godamn cars.

Crimes are pretty funny and sad to report on news here, since most are done with hatchets, axes, garden tools and stuff like that.
Since I can remember I was always wary about suspect activity, people and all that, watching my back and always ready to throw a punch. My 4 years spent at the gym discurages some, but not all.

Romania btw.

Dude it's sad you don't know the joy's of gun ownership, but I have heard that Romania was swimming with gun's but thanks for putting this strait for me.

Any one know who done that song happiness is a warm gun?

Wow. Your post pretty much summed up everything I believe about gun laws. The fact that the highest crime rate states in the US have the strictest gun laws helped too, but your post was really the nail in the coffin.

The #1 thing criminals fear is running into a civilian with a gun. We, as a general rule, are less predictable and more prone to panic than an officer. We also blend in a lot before for obvious reasons.

If no one can get guns criminals will just find something else to attack you with and you will have less options to defend yourself and when you are only 130 pounds like me, a gun is the only real option.

But I digress; this thread is about gun ownership not gun laws! So here is what I have.

Remington 870 Tactical magnum. Standard home defense shotgun.

My girlfriend just got a 410 shotty with the same 870 receiver as mine. I don’t know very much about her gun.

Her dad also just got a 410 to add to his colletion and I must say, it is the coolest gun I have probably ever seen. It is a doubled barreled 410 with a fold up stock that is only about a foot and a half long with the stock extended. The rumor is that it was a paratrooper weapon in WWII but I couldn’t find any information on it. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

I also bought an M1928 aka a Tommy Gun. Specifically the one in the middle with the extended barrel and forward pistol grip.

thompson_07.jpg

Let me just say this… the Thompson is the LEAST effective, hardest to use, heaviest gun I have ever dealt with. Mine is probably 3 feet long (I am bad at judging length) and ways 15 pounds unloaded. Add 50 rounds of .45 pistol ammo and you tire out before your drum comes up empty.

Accuracy is pretty low with the weapon too. I am sure it got the job done as a fully automatic personal machine gun, but as a rifle or carbine it is mostly useless, the only real redeeming factor is that because the gun is so heavy it has almost no recoil.

The funny thing is I knew all of this going into the purchase and I bought the weapon anyway. I figured after serving in two wars and being one of the major icons of the 1930s in America, I couldn’t pass up the piece of firearm heritage.

Dude what range you shooting it at and if you would like the user manual from the 1941 Home guard manual just let me know basic but a Interesting read non the less.

if this isn't the distilled essence of pure badass, i dont know what is...

I usually just go out to a gorge near my home so there are no official range markers but I'd guess the common target is probably 30 yards away (roughly 30 meters).

It is a large metal pipe probably 5 feet across and 5 feet tall and I can hit it regularly but not as regularly as I can with my friends AR15.

The only real reason to own a Tommy Gun is because everyone immediately recognizes it when you open the case. Everyone associates it with mean, tough ass '30s gangsters.

Maybe I am not giving the weapon enough credit but even if it was much more accurate I'd default to an AR or AK47 if I ever needed a rifle for some reason.

Unless the zombie apocalypse happened. Then my 50 round drum would be gold.

As a side note, I wouldn’t mind seeing that book.

EDIT: I like the picture. It is funny, when I bought my gun I walked into the gun store, pointed at it, and asked if it came with the 50 round drum.

The clerk said, "Yup, and a violin case, softcase, and a 30 round stick"

He had me at violin.

To top it off I produced the cash and my ID from my Mario Brothers 2 wallet. How many people do you know that buy a gun and carry a Mario Brother's wallet?
