The new Cookie Monster

My God Kotario, is there something you don't steal from Awful Link Of The Day?

Erm... pretty much everything (here, something right now that has not been featured)? Only a few exceptions. In any case it was a strange coincidence, seeing Cookie Monster pop up after a few weeks and the previously posted image in such a short period of time.

Wonderful. It seems to be en vogue to piss into the eye sockets of yesteryear's animators/entertainers once they die.

More likely they just lack any sense of creativity, and have to rape old content from an era when originality was rewarded and not shunned like today's cookie-cutter programming.

Although Cartoon Network gives me hope.

Amen. Recycling old content seems to be the norm these days for TV and movies both. Most people are too afraid to do anything original because god forbid they don't "fit in". Oh, and lets not forget that doing something original takes effort and we just can't have that.

Ahhhh Cartoon Network. Adult Swin kicks ass. Aqua Teen is truly a masterpiece. I love Sealab as well, although you can say it's not 100% original either as it's ripped from an old Hanna-Barbara cartoon i believe, but.. it's just so damned funny!

Alot of the toons they do play are original though, and although they aren't all golden at least they are being creative.

I still want to see Smurfs HARDCORE tho.

I've seen some animated gifs of smurf pr0n on the net somewhere. Mildly amusing at first, but nothing truly hilarious.

Kind of like Harvey Birdman, in taking the characters but writing really fucked up things involving them. My favorites from Adult Swim are Robot Chicken, Venture Brothers, ATHF, and on occasion SeaLab 2021.

Of course, Adult Swim has a few titles that are primarily crap. Tom Goes to the Mayor is just puerile non-sequitur dry humping of the same three jokes like a dog on a very lonely mailman, day after day. Home Movies might be worth watching - if you didn't fall asleep waiting for the punch-line, which may or may not be the equivalent of "Stephen Hawking's Punch-Out!" Sometimes funny in a cripple fight sort of way, sometimes just babble that needs much better writing to be remotely funny or understood.

My favorite is from Family Guy: "So when we got out into the parking lot, Smurfette started smurfing me, right there!" Something like that.

Smurf #1: Yo, Smurf, that party last night was freakin', Smurf!
Smurf #2: You bet your smurf it was!
Smurf #1: Hey, I saw you leaving with Smurfette.
Smurf #2: Yeah. Right when we left the party, she started smurfin' me.
Smurf #2: Shut the smurf up! Right in the smurfing parking lot?
Smurf #2: Oh, yeah.
Smurf #1: That's freakin' smurf!
Smurf #2: You betcha.
Smurf #1: Freakin' smurf.

The Smurfs definitely always had their darkside:

hehehehe, I'm gonna start sneaking 'smurf' into my conversations in place of swearing and general debauchery.

I forgot all about Birdman while posting. Another good one. Along with the Venture Brothers, i've seen all the eps so far, can't wait for the new season. If there is one, haven't heard anything about a new one yet. Robot Chicken just started, and it already looks to be a classic. I love how they brought back stop-motions animation, kind of gives the show it's own unique feel. And somehow, i'm not so sure it would be as funny if it was actual animation.

I have to agree with 100% on Tom Goes to the Mayor and Home Movies. There is just nothing funny about TGTTM. I remember when the to creators of the show were on The Screensavers, or Attack of the Show as it's called now (WTF kind of title that is). Anyway, they kept trying to crack jokes, and doing things i guess they thought were funny, but ended up being really asinine. I couldn't stand them.

Using "Stephen Hawking's Punch Out" as a comparison for the punch line in home movies was classic, and kind of wrong, but still hilarious.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it went. Family Guy is another great show. In case you haven't heard yet, the new season is starting pretty soon. Yes, you heard right, they brought it back.

Watch me lie here calmly in my pool of not-caring.

I've seen maybe 2 or 3 Family Guy episodes in my life. The show could not in any way interest me.

It does play a lot off of American pop culture, so its not like that's surprising.

Incidentally, the best episode of What's New Scooby Doo was when a rival band tried to murder Simple Plan.

...

I LAYZRZ RAWK YO!

(Translation: I'd say that I like the concept of eye lasers, but otherwise that bunny is not very appealing to my intellect -- the Flash movie was remotely funny nevertheless)

@mettalhed: Season two of Venture Brothers has been greenlit.

Hopefully, due to the amount of people who found Tom completely un-funny, Tom Goes to the Garbage Can, so something worth watching will take its place.

Rock on. The first season ended like Easy Rider, so I was wondering if they were going to do another one.

im from england so sesame street doesnt have that big a showing in the uk ,the cookie monster tho is world renown i mean who hasnt heard the c is for cookie song
.....but to some of us he was a hero im just glad hes here defending against the horrors there about to do to him

smurfs were great and smurfette was hot

im glad that family guy is back (anyone know why they took it off in the first place?)
best cartoon that they stoped was invader zim followed by arrrgh real monsters

The story that goes around my college is that Family Guy got taken off of the air because they said hillary clinton had a penis.

Smurfs are actually highly intelligent single cell organisms that mimic mammal reproduction patterns. (e.g. smurfette gangbang).
And, yes, they are nazis, but they live in a hippy commune, which makes them hippy communists nazis. Good thing they aren't jews too.
