The overleveled trash mobs are what I hate most

NMA? That's very doubtfull. Maybe if it involved a lot of complaining and procrastinating. Then yes.

I definitely agree we could have seen what we have with how Obsidian and inXile were operating with games and Wasteland but with a company (possibly one of the previously mentioned) doing Fallout.

Kickstarters and indie teams are the lifeblood of modern cRPGs if you ask me. How many bigger studios are making turn-based/RTwP RPGs that aren't JRPGs? What's the last one that made waves in gaming outlets? Divinity Original Sin 2? I know Obsidian and inXile got some press coverage but nothing like that game. That's the only game I can think of that brought a noticeable amount of new people to the genre. My friend who refused to play anything like Fallout 1 or 2 because "they're too old and archaic" even bought the game and wouldn't shut up about how crazy that a game like it could exist.

I would have much preferred this route in the long run of what we've seen in the past 10 years now. Sure I wouldn't have New Vegas but it's a gamble I'm willing to bet on.

Still, the point is that you decided to register here and this means you will meet some form of resistance. How could you not? I certainly would not expect anything less if I decided to post on a Fallout 76 fan forum or something, giving them my opinion or trying to lecture them or what ever.
I also want to add to this, that as a newcomer there's a reason I signed up to be a part of this forum rather than other forums that would discuss Fallout games.

Yeah, that's the other reason i will never give Bethesda credit for "reviving" Fallout: the franchise could have been eventually picked up by a company that gave a shit about the license. I mean, Wasteland was picked up and Fallout is the very next most popular thing in the post apocalyptic RPG genre and the first two games are some of the most beloved games in the RPG genre.

Bethesda picking up the franchise was the absolute worst case scenario and that's what happened given that the last three main series games are some of the worst RPGs on the market.
