The problem with China

Ashmo said:
Uhm, if they want to become non-independant, they wouldn't resist being annexed, would they?

I mean... if people want something, you don't have to force them to do it, because if you have to force someone to do something, it's because they don't want to do it.

What you have said there is true, but have you ever considered the possibility of TW people wanting to be non-independent but never get to be seen by the people in western countries.

And did you know that TW has many political parties and some parties support being part of china and :!: doesn't :!: support being independent? And that there are many clashes between these parties? and have you ever seen popple fighting each other because of this problem

And i can safely say no, many of you reading this would have never heard of this, but if you go to taiwan for your self you will see that what you see in the press isn't all but propaganda that everyone inTW is being forced :P i live in europe and really noticed how they broadcast news about TWand its f*** s**t only get one side of story

So I strongly belief Taiwan is part of China

I, and the rest of the world doesn't.

rest of world ???? not actually true, even the president of USA admits that TW is part of China with no doubt. And many other nations aswell
Eventhough US keeps selling arms to TW

I just read through this guy's post.

He is most likely from a political monitoring group. Most of his povs are Exactly the same as that of the CP's line. If he isn't working for them or trying to get political favors thereof, he is brainwashed to the point of idiocy.
apologist or slobbering CEO.

Just because you views are so strong that you won't accept other peoples point of view doesn't mean you can say its idiocy

by the way what are CP's line??? anyway

Not to mention Mao's impact upon the massive population boom, the fact that he was probably the worst economsit of all time, and that he was an utter deviant and pervert who burns in the lowest level of hell.

S;

edityourpost

I just wasted valuable minutes fusing three posts of yours together. I don't like wasting minutes. Please edit your posts and do not double-post.

And if you want to debate civilly, keep calm and make your points carefully.

EDIT: make that fusing 4 posts together and fixing quote-tag mistakes. S, phpBB is not that complex, learn to use it and try not to make such glaring errors.

Any more double posts will end up in the vats, because that takes me just the slightest bit less effort.

Waitaminute.

If the ROC is even half of a democratic state, the majority decides.

And if the majority elects a party that supports the annexation, then that's that, but if they don't...

It's a good thing the CP would never  send agents into Taiwan to stir up just this sort of unrest.

The reason why everybody knows that Taiwan doesn't want to became a part of PRC is because no sane nation would... Especially Taiwan. They are much better of outside of PRC (such as it is now) than in.

It is funny how your preference affects your views, But anyway your views (anyone's views isn't important). The fact is that Cn will keep growing into political power whether you like it or not.

Its true that many changes is still needed to meet the so called international standard especially the human rights part.
And i'm confident that Cn will fix those problems in a humane way, as education will change many views and out of date ideology.
It is evident that Cn's development has given its people more than ever before, look at Cn now and compare it with last decade. If you been to Cn you will notice that its not as bad as before.

And the issue about TW, well TW will inevitable return to Cn whether people like it or not. (i really don't see why TW could be even considered independent, its like saying N.ireland is a separate country or something silly as that)

And please do not discriminate chinese people because of your views about china, because i know many that do dislike chinese people for a pointless reason which i call racism.
There is no need for hate, as i can feel that many dislike me because of my posts. So this will be my last post in this topic, so see you guys in other threads.

ps: apologies for the multiple posts, such incidents will not happen again. thx Spawn of Santa for fixing

ROFL

This is great!

He is doing everything I said in my post.

Let me try something:

S - what are the 4 great novels in Chinese history?

what are you talking about mate ?

Do you mean i repeated some of you line :P , sry i just wrote what i think and belief is true.
To answer your question, well difficult to write them in chinese. (are you testing me :D )

Nice to see someone who agrees to some of my views and also you have made some cool journeys 8) are you a journalist or something?

ps: answer this what are the 4 greatest chinese inventions. :)

Gun powder, space travel, communism and overpopulation?

Got one right :P , space travel is bad and waste of money and wasn't invented by chinese anyway. (at that time probably still fighting japs or something )

communism no it was brought in from Russia well USSR

overpopulation no its always been a problem, and it cannot be invented. (also it depends on how you define over population)

Heh. Never claimed the Chinese invented any of that on their own.

Besides. The Chinese have a reputation of being copy-cats anyway.

Sry but you making me feel that you hate chinese people for no apparent reason. And have no clue where you get your info from because it ***. :P and untrue

First of all inventions isn't one day thing so to accurately know who invented one thing isn't always clear. And saying that chinese people have a reputation of being copy-cats is just being irresponsible .
(are you sure its not the japanese you are talking about?)

@Starseeker- checking into some of that. By the way I saw the Summer Palace in 1988, and it was pretty fucking cool. IF it's gone to shit through the 1990s, that blows but isn't that big a suprise. I thought the Forbidden City was kind of a let down- too much hype. The Wall was pretty fucking cool though- Ming Tombs sucked ass.
(those were my tourist impressions from 1988).

And S is right to say that all the Chinese do is copycat is unfair, is right on the money. That is unfair.

A friend of mine told me about a shipment of duracell batteries coming in from China. Everything was nicely packaged as they went off to Walmart. Unfortunately not a single batter worked because there was nothing in them but solid casing.

(I am not sure which is funnier- that the Chinese are so crooked they can't even make batteries or that Walmart got shafted with them).

Ditto the problem with buying CDs or DVDs from China- if they work because the ones my brother brought all were busted.

And that, friends, is a beautiful thing. China has gone capitalist without getting responsible. As Weber tells us in the Protestant Ethic and Capitalism- what makes Capitalism work is the trust between venders.

As Starseeker points out, in China business is war. ANd in war you can't trust each other. Everyone I have talked to who does business in the mainland is saying the same thing. The Chinese will cheat you every way they can.

So it seems the corruption of the Chinese and the drive to screw you out of a buck will eventually catch up to them when people begin to realize that you can't do business with the Chinese becasue they are a bunch of fucking cheats.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying this about Chinese people. I have a lot of Chinese friends and plenty of folks that are of Chinese descent who live outside of China. But the business people in China who will fuck you silly as soon as they can, your supposed business partners, are a bunch of crooks. This is supported by the state which either keeps secret or doesn't support copyrights and trademarks.

This is not racism, S, this is experience.

And yes, it's great that China has developed and that its people are doing better now than ever- thanks to abandoning the planned economy. It sucks ass that the people running it are the members of the Communist Party who seem to be enjoying a disporportionate share of the spoils.

Oh and if you were in Taiwan, and your neighbor was threatening you with nuclear annihiliation, and you realized they were just a bunch of crooked half-wits, you might want to make peace too. One can still make a profit and live, even if governed by a half-wit. For example, in the US we have this dipshit named Bush that over half the fucking country was stupid enough to reelect.... but that's another story.

(the beauty there is that we have a chance of dumping our crooks, the Chinese are stuck with theirs).
And that's great. Because the more people figure it out, and the sooner businesses will realize that the Chinese have misunderstood capitalism for corruption, the sooner more countries will benefit from foreign investment that has been going to CHina for the last 25 years.

I think China should be kicked out of the WTO.

Best Chinese novels-
Dream of Red Chamber
Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Outlaws of the Marsh
Journey to the West?

I have to admit, I like Buck's the Good Earth a lot. I also have the Strange Tales of ... I think it's Laou Tzu, but I am not sure.

Yes, I'm sure I'm talking about China here.

I don't hate anyone for who they are (I strongly dislike the American people, but that's a generalisation) and I'm not saying that Chinese would inherently tend to copy other products.

It's a general observation -- there just happen to be a lot of copies (of varying quality) coming from China (or more recently: Asia in general) ranging between cheap rip-offs to cleverly reverse-engineered copies.

Anyway. I'm not saying the whole claim is particularily objective. It's a reputation -- and reputations don't have to be based on objective facts.

Ashmo-

You got a country with very loose protection of copyrights, patents and trademarks. The same country is eager to catch up with the rest of the world (Japan and Korea did this). Add that to a desire to embrace capitalism- and yes you have a country in which copies are a matter of course.

It's not racist- The Vietnamese are doing this too.

Hey, don't tell me. I'm not blaming anyone.

Even in those countries where the existing mass-copying is illegal by local law, the government doesn't neccessarily put much effort into prosecuting it -- especially if it helps the economy.

Some of you just want to blame or attack China, that's your freedom, I don't like your opinion, but I can't change it.
At least, I know that's something in your opinion, and almost every Chinese has already known the problem, we just can't change the whole situation right now, but, not FOREVER.
So, the last words are:
Say what you want to say, but China is getting better.

Yeah, but Ashmo's got a point when he says the counterfeit market won't be shut down for real as long as a LOT of politicians and officials have something to gain from it. It's not just corruption, it brings a lot of money to China as a whole. I think a lot less tourists would go there if they stopped selling copies.

*edit*

We seem to have received a LOT of new Chinese members lately. Maybe some Chinese Army Intelligence agent googled "China+problem" and ended up here, sending his buddies to monitor us (it wouldn't surprise me much).

If you pay some attention to the time of my registration, you will find the answer, I could only say, you misunderstand our Chinese people.
You can even find my id in Per's fallout2 guide, I came here because I like fallout, not the fight, but I will show up if I see some unfair words to China or its people, that's all.
If a Chinese want to call some "buddies" to "monitor" you, you will find incomputable new ID in this forum, but this will not happen, because we DID know what freedom means.
