The truth...

This news bit was edited due since Damien felt it was wrong and also it reflected wrongly upon him..

Still...we...know...all......

Probably should have left in the importantest bit, which is about pulling resources away from one game to work on crapgame, then cancelling game one due to slower than expected development.

aye, my latest issue of PC Gamer (US) had a small news bit on the side about JE Sawyer leaving BIS but Fallout 3 still being full underway :(. I wrote em a letter saying heh, fully underway is no such thing but who knows if anything'll happen. One.

You know, that crossed my mind as well..only mine works slowly these days, must be that damn flu.....or the beers I drunk..who knows.. :P

Well, now that "some" contact is confirmed, albeit of sorts, I would really doubt that the people they consulted were people of design positions and of familiarity enough. Plus, a couple of people. Really, that could hardly be said to be "a lot of contact".

Interplay will just shoot themselves in the foot if they try to put BIS' logo on that game. I will make it a personal point to make e-mails to every news site I can think of, every relevent newsgroup, etc. and post about Interplay firing the people at BIS just so they can use the name any way they want in a clear case of business dishonesty. Many I know, most of those outside of the Fallout fandom, will do the same. But then again if lemon laws applied to software, Caen would still be the token drunk French prostitute in Prague.

The designers of Fallout 3 apparently knew nothing about any contact, and it's already stated that it was a management thing, so...

First of all I'd like to say hi to you all, I'm a new user.

Second, I'd like to give my regards to the BIS crew, I'm a long time fan and as the rest of the forum (I guess) I've been waiting for Fo3 since I finished Fo2 :D
Makes it hurt inside, sort of that we won't see the game on shelves, but it doesn't hurt as much as the bullshit that Interplay keep on shoveling, with the layoffs and stuff.
I hope you all (BIS crew) find something to do after the holiday season, I want to see you guys in action again :D Hopefully something to do with the Fo-license, but that is shrouded in MYSTARY! :D

The thing I was going to say (regarding this whole license business): What if Interplay goes under? Does the license belong to them, or does it ship over to their "boss"? Since I've understood that they are a developing house under some other company I don't remember the name of.
If not, then the license should be at the very least auctioned out to developers... if that is so, I would say that buying the license now, would make a huge difference in price.

JDeiley: I'm a 3dsmax user as well, do you have anything to show? :D I would love to check it out. Are you attending any courses or are you trying to learn the program by yourself?

Take care all of you, and lets hope that the rest of the gaming world get the notice that BIS is no more, and that Interplay is trying to pull some bullshit with planting the BIS-logo on games.

(if my english sucks, it's because I'm Swedish ;) )

edit: idiotic small mistakes in the text. "Ballshit" instead of "Bullshit" HAHA[/i]

Well, good luck, developers, we'll be looking forward to see your work on the storeshelves.

Tre, welcome.

Hi Tre. Well we've all been waiting for FO3 but, and now I'm speaking for my self, the dream has died. A lot of people are just like you upset at Interplay, with all right.
I have no idea really how US laws handle rights or licenses but if Interplay needs quick cash or, someday soon, file for bankrupcy (sp?) maybe some other company can get a hold of the Fo-license.
That's what many are hoping for I think. I don't see how the license could be "auctioned" out, not in the real sense of the word, but sure, offers and counter-offers from various buyers might raise the sum.

Ps. I think your english is fine, but then again I too am from Sweden, so maybe I'm not the one to decide... (At least I didn't right deicide, which is another thing all together ;)...)

I kinda dispise the people constantly cutting Interplay, and hoping for them to die...

Well, I despise clueless people. You wouldn't want to be clueless, now would you?

I honestly would rather see interplay survive their problems... It would be better for all of us if EA blew up, than if Interplay did.

I would rather see you get some more facts before you post again and try to say that after you've seen what Interplay has done.

But still cutting interplay... the people who brought you Fallout to begin with, and then BIS... tisk tisk... :)

Now this is just asinine. It really shows you don't have a clue as to what Titus has been doing lately, or ever since they decided to do things like sue Fargo, get into legal hot water with BioWare, or any number of things that should have clued in any intelligent mammal.

Ever think about if Interplay happened to do well again, that they may rehire employees? Normally when businesses do bad they lay off to save money, but then rehire when the work is needed again.

Normally when that happens in the game industry, people usually get job offers by other developers, though it is a slow time now as it is considered the doldrums of the gaming industry.

Expecting people to go back after you've just fucked them...wow, you sure are naive.

Oh well, I think I might have pissed alot of people off with my first post here. Just remember this one thing, Interplay isn't our enemy, it's Microsoft. Never Forget that. :)

Clue. It's not just a board game.

I would like to thank you for the welcome :D

And I think Zanadu (if your post was in regard to mine) got me wrong. I wouldn't want Interplay dead, I would actually want to see Interplay sliced up among the wolves in the gaming industry :)

In fact, I would like to point out that Feargus was the one with the ideas, why he chose Interplay to cooperate with, I'll never know, still, he did.
If he hadn't, I guess he would have gone with another company instead.
So, don't give Interplay the credit that the BIS crew deserve.

:)

You also gotta admit that someone who puts that much time in a flame has got to get some sort of life.

Ooooh shit! I can't believe you just said that

POINT: Without Interplay Fallout wouldn't be around, all you would have is Mad Max.

So? We need to spend the rest of our lives grovelling in front of Interplay because they once brought us Fallout?

During the Revolution, France helped America against England, should you still be kissing French ass?
