Things Fallout 4 Got Right

They're likely going to keep the scrap and build system for the next game - and perhaps even TES VI. If they insist on the player being a scrap fiend, the story should support it.

No more "find my missing family member" plotholes while the gameplay encourages doing the opposite thing.
I can see the PC having to chop down trees to build a house in TES VI, but I doubt you will be encouraged to gather useless garbage like in Fallout 4. You normally have a lot less "clutter" in TES games. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a return of the weapon crafting system however, smelting iron swords to improve your left pauldron. That would be one positive change to take from Fallout 4. It would give an alternative to loot hoarding and selling it evenly among the vendors in the major cities for gold that you can't really spent on anything worthwhile.

Weapon crafting benefits the TES genre enormously. I'd prefer a return to durability on gear since I like resource management. Not the way Zelda BOTW handles it, but something that you can influence i.e. fix and repair.

Fallout 4 does exactly one thing right and yet it's not Power Armor half of NMA has so stiff erection on...
It's goddamn pipboy. Pipboy that now can execute applications written on holotapes. One flavour element to the gameworld yet one legit step up regarding Fallout. Not to say it's so original concept, games for pipboy were mentioned in Van Buren-F3, should become a thing in Fallout: Tactics, but finally found it's way only to Fallout 4. This and robot-hacking holotape.

That's because everything is garbage. It's an apocalypse lol

That's funny, I could have sworn that everything wasn't absolute garbage in Fallout 1-2-NV...

Oh, right, that's right, people started to make new guns in said games, because you'd have to be a fucking idiotic race to lose the ability to make simple refined blowback guns.

A fucking braindead arab can make a good AK47 in his shed, and yet superfuture mercs can't even make a pipe gun which isn't probably going to blow up in your face?

You right you right

One of the things i liked about New Vegas is that it shows that humanity is actually trying to move forward. There's still the occasional ruined building or area but it's far better than how it is in Fallout 3 and 4.

In Fallout 3 and 4 it looks like the bombs only fell like 5 years or so ago.

Yeah well her accent is nonsensical and therefore she sucks. Though agreed that accents are great. Especially scottish, irish, english, and australian.
Plus I like her brand of rash craziness. Plus she could probably keep up in a drinking contest which is always a bonus

Piper was hot. There's your fourth.

When did this.

I actually liked the changes to animals and mutated beasties in Fallout 4.
The deathclaws looked properly terrifying and could push you away/ tear apart pieces from your power armor. Huge improvement from the deathclaws in F3 and F4 in terms of their animations, and imo more terrifying than they were in the original games.
Radscorpions and rodents could burrow underground and pop out to ambush you.
Mirelurks with protected areas on their bodies which you would be wasting your ammo if you are shooting.
Insects that properly insert their stings in you and suck your blood. Yuck.
All of the robots were also improved in my opinion.

Just in terms of the way they looked and their mechanics, I think the monsters in Fallout 4 were a great improvement. Again, shame they screwed up balance, scaling enemies, legendary enemies which magically heal to full health when you take them below 50%...

Deathclaws are just Skyrim dragons without wings and are weak as piss with shitty copypasted models.

Radscorpions are supposed to be low tier enemies, not burrowing monsters (unless giant).

Mirelurks are just Garthim from Dark Crystal, how unoriginal.

Insects which somehow ignore DR, have absurd toxins for a BITE (at least Cazadors are giant fucking WASPS which sting you)

Robots which shit on previous lore.

In their mechanics and looks, they are garbage.
