Things we learned from Fallout 3

453. The BOS doesn't care if you kill their patrols to get their armor and weapons.

454. The Enclave destroyed all their old power armor after making a new design.

Unicorns are dumb, but what the hell is wrong with rainbows?
Rainbows are gay! [insert rimshot]

455. Bethesda purchased all technologies and materials relating to Advanced Power Armor Mk I & II, then sued The Brotherhood of Steel for intellectual property rights violations.

456. The Brotherhood Outcast took all the TB51 armor with them throwing it in the next river exchanging it with the TB45d so Bethesda can slap their own Powerarmor designs on the game.

452. Everything in the known world is a shade of brown, or green, but thats only in exotic places of course, don't want to overload players minds with the possibilities of a large colour spectrum.
This is actually a pretty stupid complaint. Post apocalyptic worlds should be bleak and dry, not lush and exotic...

Think about Diablo's color spectrum vs Diablo II. We don't want Fallout to have rainbows and unicorns either ;)

Well, as far as I see it, Fallout 3 was the only Fallout game to follow the limited spectrum idea, as the other Fallouts had a good (trying not to sound boring here) range of colours in their games which kept the games alive to me, there is only so much brown one man can take before blowing their brains out (maybe exaggerated).

I want, because the whole planet isn't a plain desert.

Exactly what I thought, there was no variety in the landscape at all, except for slightly grey-brown rock every three meters (says so in the scriptures, yes sir, only good games have space consuming rocks, sir).

Meh, I think it fit the tune nicely. Post-apoc worlds should be harsh, depressing, dangerous, not pretty.

"YMMV IMHO FWIW" apparently :P

It fits, but it's too much of it. It's like how in Gears Of War the colors are Dust, Gunmetal, Blood, Explosions. And that's it, really.

Fallout 3 basically had dust ash and ash covered dust. And that was it. That might fit if it's supposed to right afterwards of something like that, and the theme is basically surviving in a totally hostile landscape, sort of like The Road, but it doesn't really fit for FO3.

Honestly I think the comments/complaints about color spectrum are just lame bitching for bitching's sake. If you want a pretty game, go somewhere else and quit whining about this one. But that's the last i'll say on that matter. To each his own. Although some tastes are better than others. ;)

I agree with Sduibek about the colours, I mean, its really not that bad. I felt it added to the incredible atmosphere.

People just like to pick on the new kid on the block. It happened with GTA4, Fable 3, Oblivion etc so it comes as no surprise that old fans are complaining. I can sort of understand why they wouldn't like it as much but these people just take it to the extreme. ITS NOT THAT BAD.

457. You can be redeemed for blowing up a town fulled with innocent civilians by giving a hobo a few bottles of water

458. Hundreds of years in the future, auto-mapping functionalities of handheld devices such as the the PipBoy are confused by, and cannot display legibly, areas with multiple levels. (this is actually something carried from the Oblivion engine)

459. The Lone Wander possess a perculiar psychic ability which allows him to manipulate the display controls of a Pip-Boy 3000 without physical manipulation; this telekinetic ability is strictly limited to the Pip-Boy 3000.

461. Pip-Boy 3000.
This little thingy knows all your statistics, automatically registers any clothing or inventory changes, pauses the time so that a user can use medicine, equip/wear different things or change radio stations.
Furthermore, it can somehow change its display color from green to few others, but the reflection from the display is always white. Not to mention that although light comes from a small screen on your left wrist, it is strong enough to light rooms and even form light in a 360 degree angle around the user.

Fallout three isn't the new kid on the block, GTAIV sucked, and the color scheme was utterly bland and boring. and that green filter they ran everything through only made it worse.

That's because
462. You're not supposed to use third person view. That's just there so they could list it on the back of the box.

No, because you'd still have to use your hands in FP view. He can pick up shit and carry it around while holding a goddamned rocket launcher.
