Things we learned from Fallout 4

443. Everyone in the wasteland knows exactly what a Vault is and recognise jumpsuits on sight (could argue some know due to Vault 81 though).
A small few of traders, and i doubt they would tell everyone. To keep their business and stuff. A bunch of dwellers must be great clientel.

441: The 'secretive' group The Railroad will take safety precautions such as using code names to refer to each other. They have had to remain more cautious since the Institute discovered the location of their old HQ. Despite their losses from that event the leader of the Railroad, Desdemona, thinks it is a good idea to make tapes telling people to follow a historical path that leads directly to their new HQ.

Good thing for them that their HQ door is password protected, surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to use a password like, "RAILROAD".

Maybe it's one of those things that nobody would guess because it's too obvious. At least they aren't stupid enough to write it down along the path you take to their HQ- oh wait....
Makes me think of some guy from my country, France. In 2008, he hacked our freaking federal bank by accident, shutting it down for two days, by basically entering 123456 as password. The guy used his normal Skype account and yet, wasn't found until two years later, even with Interpol on his trail. It led to an internal audit, which revealed that basically all the public services (ministries, police dept., hell even branches of the army) had "password" or "admin" as password.
Makes me wonder if the railroad situation is THAT unrealistic. Many people of power have had epic fails of internal security measures, even when the stakes were high. A part of me wishes that it was that, instead of simply horrible writing. Of course, my brain knows which one it is.

You know, if the path and password led to a temporary hideout with only one guy, it would have been fine. Who cares if a random checkpoint if compromised, it's not like it leads directly to their main HQ... Right ? Right ? Oh wait... Cotdamnit, Bethesda!

The funniest things is that random checkpoints hidden better than main HQ.

That's usually the case in reality as well. Finding the base of a group of spies is easier then finding a single checkpoint, due to being small it can be almost anywhere. This makes looking for a single spy tough, unless they stand out because they can be anyone.

Lol I didn't even bother that much with the Railroad, I stopped their quests after the like third radiant quest.

Bethesda just made them so unlikable, I couldn't even get into their faction quests or whatever because of the characters. Just too much shit with them being like a sentinel or whatever Beth wanted to parade them as with Deacon, it's just too unbelievable to me.

444. The best way to immerse yourself in any faction whatsoever is by doing dozens upon dozens of radiant quests for them!

445. Radiant quests are obviously the pinnacle of any action-RPG game!

Alright, I'm mistaken. The funniest fact is that this didn't help Railroad too much, it's all empty or full of raiders.

Just a quick question does everyone here actually hate fallout 4 or is it that fo4 just didn't live up to expectations and had some weak DLC that was no where near as good as FO3 OR FNV dlc?

Btw i think the only problem is that bethesda has got bigger studio and have less time for making load of DLC for there games but dma that does suck

It's because of the horrible to non-existent writing, retcons, doesn't bother taking all the positives that Obsidian did with New Vegas and build upon them, the dialogue is 4 flavors of dogshit, they try to do a whole bunch of things and fail at all, immortal people because consequences are bad, have to build minecraft settlements into the game yourself since they were to uninspired to actually put settlements and cities with actual people with personalities instead of "settler" into the game, assets ripped from the game in the form of DLC, mod fiasco since making sure console users don't steal mods and credit them as their own is teh hards, overpriced DLC, and anything else that I'm missing which I'm sure will be pointed out.

No it's because...

I wouldn't classify my feelings towards Fallout 4 as hate but it certainly wasn't what a Fallout game should've been, though it didn't merely "not live up to my expectations" (though, admittedly, those were somewhat low due to the voiced protagonist and dialogue wheel featuring heavily in the gameplay trailers), it thoroughly disappointed me - so much so that I joined a forum with a reputation for hating Bethesda's Fallout.

No, Bethesda has a fundamental misunderstanding about what the game's supposed to mean. I believe they're incapable of creating a Fallout game that fits in with the principles, themes and atmosphere that the West Coast trilogy created.

(Unrelated but I'm really glad the 3 important Fallout games take place around the same region, it makes it really easy to seperate the shitteness.)

Hate's a strong word, but to me, Bethesda doesn't seem to care about the core of Fallout. They don't grasp what truly makes a Fallout game and their latest attempt is their worst effort yet.

Their treatment of and attitude towards the Fallout lore is what gets me the most though.

Well that what I mean the season pass is abit of a cash grab. I got mine for £24 so I not all that mad although they said there would be tons of 'Value' and there just was't. It was probably worth that but not more. I don't hate Bethesda at all even though i spent £300 on an Xbox just to play fallout 4. I also will say that I enjoyed fallout 4 mostly and have good experience/fun times with the game. I have also sunk alot of hours into nearly a week game time so there is plenty to do for me anyway however Idle quest are a bit of fuck up because I literally did the save some one from stockpile 6 times. I didn't mind that too because I was engrossed in settlement building. Some people don't like it but I do. (This could be it was the first next game I've ever played so graphics felt great etc. As I am aiming to build a new mod with the FNV Geck 'Fallout atlanta' I have realized i would really enjoy an 'old' fallout game with the better dialogue ect. What I would regard as a more fallout game if that makes scene.

I literally spent 2 years thinking what fallout 4 could be here is my ideas ;

-I din;t actaully at frist think settlement building would be in the game at all. I imgaine that there would be more house or propitiates to buy. I would say some more chose of player homes this also leading to more settlements. I always thought FO4 would have loads of settlements as FO3 did. With quest and interesting characters and I was really dis pointed by the lack of this.
-Dialogue ; Why have a voiced actor i literally din't realise this was a think intill I started playing. I think the game need a dialogue over haul but not was any voiced actors.
-Map; I don't know why but I imgained FO4 to be bigger. I mean it is bigger per say but I thought bethseda would be able to make something really massive like 2x sixe of skyrim. I think that this should be a realitly. Bigger is not always better mind you but I was ready for a massive massive map. I always felt as though FNV had the largest map. It took along time to get too vegas and that defo added alot to the game
-Quest Quest Quest ; This is my biggest complaint and I would love to just talk to beth as to what the the heck they would thinkg? Radiant after raindent quest this was a big no no. And I think ruined the game fpr alot of people. It must of been quite easy to desgin aswell so they had plently of time to write bigger and better quest

448: Elder Scrolls 6 will be great, after drinking Fallout's blood, burning its house with its family and then stomping on its skull, leaving a pile of lowly texturized rubble with a Vault Boy and Nuka Cola imagery dancing in the ash.
