I'd say almost certainly Trump will send ground troops into Syria. I hope Trump-fans will step up and volunteer, although most would need to go through boot camp etc. first.

America and Russia have already fought proxy wars with neither side choosing to escalate to the point of outright oblivion, which both possess the ability to do so. If it doesn't escalate to oblivion, Russia has no chance because they couldn't afford to modernize their military as America has repeatedly since then. So, in simple terms of gain, no one really has a chance to benefit from the war other than a fit of pique.
It requires the war to happen just because the leaders of both nations have suddenly become suicidal and omnicidal in equal measure.
Over Syria.
A country both sides are nominally allied with bombing the shit out of even as they bomb the shit out of each other's allies doing.
Because powerfull leaders usually cherish live, their own live, but still live.

Russia is not fucking invading the Ukraine. They're sending arms to the rebels, but no there has been no formal declaration or even an informal one and Russian troops aren't fighting Ukrainian forces or occupying cities.

It seems the Peace threaty between the Farc and the Colombian Government got saved. And this time they won't be retarded and make it's institution dependant on popular vote, which they should've done from the beginning. Here is hoping by the beginning of 2017 peace with the FARC is already a thing and negotiations can be had with the ELN.
