Well okay since i was at the streets for the weekend and the recess period for this year is cancelled thanks to this coup i'm forced to return to my post. So i wasn't able write here.
First i'm a prosecutor from Turkey (though a new one). I was at my hometown Ankara during the coup for anyone who doesn't know Ankara is the capital and suffered the bulk of the violence. I'm the third generation lawyer from my family: a family with pure kemalists roots. I have no religious affinity. Half of my family are soldiers and the other half works for the government long before AKP came to power. Almost no one in my family works in the private sector. That's just a family thing.
I'm telling all this so anyone who cares enough read this post might understand that where i'm coming from.
So let's start:
1) It was not a conspiracy by the government. Gulenist movement and AKP build an alliance when AKP first elected. Gulenist unlike initial AKP members had(more or less) many educated and qualified people in their disposal so together they started to replace leftists, conservatives and kemalists in the goverment. Since U.S.A was okay with all these AKP had enormous support from the outside. So no coup from Kemalists was possible(Who're getting uncooperative with U.S.A for a while. For example during the Iraq invasion AKP and Erdoğan fully supported the law that allowed U.S.A soldiers to use Turkey for their operations. However The Army, Kemalists and Conservatives together foiled this and that skeleton law didn't passed the senate.
However this proved that AKP was the only dependable U.S.A ally in Turkey. So i believe U.S.A at "the very least" allowed AKP and Gulenists to do whatever they want to seize the full power. So they did and the time passed and at some point Gulenist movement started using fake cases to eliminate kemalists from the army, the jurisdiction and the police department(we suffered from all these in first hand as whole family). At some point in 2011 Erdogan noticed the danger. As he get more sour with U.S.A he came to realize that what he allowed Gulenists to do the others can be done to himself.
2) In the jurisdiction all of us: kemalists, leftists and AKP supporters come together and won the elections for The Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors againts Gulenists (only by a small margin). To put it in perspective there are 12000 Judges and Prosecutors in Turkey and 5000 of them are Gulenist. They're that numerous because they cheated in the exams and quickly rose in numbers. And i know this from first hand, it. is. a. fact.
3) So in a few weeks The Supreme Military Council was going to assemble and discharge thousands of these Gulenists from the army. Since jurisdiction was won back, all those soldiers were going to lose their cases against those discharges. They're backed in a corner and desperate. All these are facts, no lie.
4) This' why they attempted a coup. It was their last change before they're taken down. Especially Kemalist generals (two of them are my relatives btw) did all they can to stop this coup from happening. Everyone tried to prevent this. I'm not going to say that in Turkey we don't have edgy teens that learn their political views from 9gag. So yes you'll see many of them saying it's was Erdoğan. It's a more imbecile claim than 9/11 was an inside job or area 49 or Moon Landing hoax claims.
So all these fuss about U.S.A intervention: there is no solid proof beyond the facts that Gulen is in America and he did(!) ordered a coup in Turkey. I mean how is that a long leap that U.S.A didn't know this and has nothing to do with it? I'm not going the hate U.S.A for doing what empires do. However believing they're a white lamb in this mess... I mean what would America do if we harbor a coup suspect in our border? I bet what they'd do include an atom bomb or two.
