Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

You're experiencing the infamous bag bug, in which the game doesn't properly handle items below the bag in your inventory. Scripts and dialogue recognize that they exist, but don't remove them for some reason.

Does the patch affects anything music related?it seems the music tracks arent playing and i have the sound to the max volume....

Killap:
Found another bug (error display on dialogs) on the unofficial patch.

Broken Hills, Downtown area:
When you talk to the trading and protection corps.

Check if the music paths are correct in your fallout.cfg

There is a batch of 1.0 cds (mine is one of them) that does not properly copy over the music files. Just manually copy them over from your Fallout 2 cd.

QUOTE PYRAMID

Yes i have the white label collection, but thing is, the path in the config file actually exists but there's no track inside, the tracks are in a different path, instead of being in the \sound\music which actually existis, its in the path data\sound\music.....strange.

aven't been able to find this information by reading the readmes and looking around, so if anyone knows, I would be grateful. Is the grav plate thing fixed now? Can I go to T-Ray, get my car back and still get the upgrade after the game? Thanks.

So, nobody knows? Killap? Please?

Yes, this is fixed. Sorry for missing this question.

Ok, tried going through the thread and didn't find this listed...but I have a game that I've gotten very far in and now it's crashing whenever I go to NCR. Never been there before, but it's crashing to black upon trying to enter for the first time.

Any ideas/help?

(Also, there is a patch000.dat file in my fallout2 directory, but I thought that the autoinstaller took care of that and if I file was there the installer put it there? It wasn't very clear that I needed to delete it in the readme and only picked that up through some comments in posts...)

I got your e-mail and shall look into your savegame.

The installer should have removed the patch000.dat file and the only reason it wouldn't would be because of a non standard installation of the game. Are we sure the patch is really working as intended? Did you see the changes from the readme? Does it say a version in the lower right of the main menu?

It's your version, 1.02.022 (FO2UP). Game seems to be running bug free aside from this one issue.

And it's a pretty standard installation - I did the humongous install as per the NMA/normal.

A strange bug involving Slim in Klamath. If you have to barter for the key, the next set of dialogue options appears on top of the barter interface.

Killing Duntons brothers bug

I'm not sure if this is a mod related bug, but I can't kill the Duntons. When I fight them and as they are low on hp I can't hurt them no more. It's like when I choose an option (whether to punch or shoot or whatever) and attack, the game freezes for a while, and after that nothing happens. Clicking again won't help. It feels like ai calculates whether the hit is lethal or not, and then decides will it go through. And it seems that Sulik can't do anything. At his turn he just stands next to a Dunton and just skips his turn..

Earlier when helping Torr with the brahmin against scorpions, after killing the last of them, there was a long freeze (about 1-2min) before the game started to work again. I think it has something to do with the Duntons since that's the point where they walk away. And after the freeze the Duntons are gone..

Anyone able to help, please?

@ Johnny:
Check to see if this happens in the unmodded game, and let us know if that works.

Liz (in BH) mentions the "secret" tunnel in her back room, but it's in plain sight. Maybe cover it with a rug, like one of the houses in the residential area?

Killap, no luck? I didn't want to restart a game and then encounter the same issue...not that restarting is the best option but... ;)

Thanks either way.

I'm sorry, I didn't get a chance yet to fully investigate your problem. Now that I am done with finals, I have the time to see if I can figure anything out. I'll let you know.

Talking with Dr. Henry in NCR about cybergenetics, the player's lines are "Continue", rather than "[Continue]".

Both Doc Johnson and Lou in Redding don't clear or restock their inventory.
