Fallout 2 mod Unofficial MIB88 MegaMod Gameplay Help

I made a new character without Finesse and doing a lot more damage. Knocked Klint unconscious with one kick and looted him, also killed a couple of ants with 7-11 damage instead of 0-4.

Edit: I am not sure to be honest anymore, Geckos still get 0 damage a lot of times as well as the giant rats in the rat tunnel. Still the damage average is much higher overall but the difference in combat is very noticeable compared to RP.

Check the previous page. @Endru1241 provided me a fix regarding combat damage. The fix will be out in the next release (which will hopefully be available this month).

Its a scripting problem.
 
Hi, I can't find Sam in Klamath's trapper town. Was he removed in the latest version of the mod? I noticed someone asked this same question in 2010, but apparently they found the answer themselves but did not say where Sam is. I paid the drunk bum money for advice and he says Sam is in Trapper Town, but I still can't find Sam.

Edit: The megamod guide on the wiki says Sam is at the entrance to trapper town, but I haven't been able to find him there. I've looked all over for him.
 
enigma, when you enter the trapper town map, bottom right part of the screen, just near the corn field. He reads as non-descript townsmen, but you can talk with him
 
Not sure if it's an installation error (or an error at all), but I don't have any music in the rat tunnels beneath Klamath, surely I'm supposed to?
Music directories are set up fine in fallout2.cfg and all necessary music is in the folder (from what I can see at least).
 
I have a few questions (just for starters):

1. What other paint jobs are available for the Highwayman besides Primer (gray) and Black? How do you get them? Smithy only ever has/had the primer and black.

2. How do you get the Truck replacement for the Highwayman, and is it interchangeable?


This mod is gonna have a 10000 page guide. :D
 
Does anyone know if and or where there are merchants that have large amounts of money which also happen to respawn after a certain amount of time and how long ?

Everytime I visit a town, I go to the different merchants and take their money with stuff I collected.

I travelled several times while solving quests from Vault City (4 merchants, 1 pub) to Gecko (1 merchant, 1 pub) and back. In the short time, they have normally new stuff and new money. Not much, but some. With luck you can get early a combat gun in VC.

And more important no reason to spend any skill points on First Aid, Repair and Science... :-)


### What I would like to know is ###
1. What Weapons are best for the companions?
Klint (took only SMG's)
Sulik (took only SMG's)
Vic (looks like he s*cks in all but shotguns)
Cassidy (Scoped Hunting Gun, Sniper rifles, Assault Rifle...)
Lenny
Miria
Davin
Bess :-)
Dogmeat :-) (love that he is a fast runner, wished I had him already in Klamath)

Especially Miria and Davin are really bad with weapons, so far. I hope they will get much better in a few levels.

Lenny has in the moment a SMG, but I'm not really happy with it.

2. If I contact the Enclave with the reactor terminal, do I hurt Gecko with it?
I had an encounter with them, but couldn't speak to them, they didn't move at all. Tried not to attack them, I'm not stupid, still Level 12...

3. If I let Lenny drink alcohol to increase his radiation levels, does it have any advantage or disadvantageß

### You want to learn weapon modifications from Skeeter? ###

If he offer a free modification, chose the last option, so you get the option to learn them instead! Maybe you need some skills little higher. (Sadly no Assault Rifle with ext.magazine.)

I actually need merchants with larger amounts of money at least over 1.5k because I have items which are quite expensive. I think the main ones you mentioned are only under 1k with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 but they also don't seem to replenish their money stock at least from what I did which was wait a couple days mainly a week and still nothing. I might be missing something though, heck If there weren't anyone in game with what I'm after I'd settle for modding existing merchant money.

The two best places to get money are the merchants in San Francisco and, I think, the casino cage in Redding.

It is completely possible to edit the merchant scripts to generate more money. The scripts you would want to modify are actually the merchant "box" scripts. Look for references to money or item 41. From those scripts, you can also modify how often a restock is done.

Another thing is to modify the worldmap.txt file inside the data/data folder. Again, look for references to item 41 and the script numbers of the merchants. You could easily add money this way to random merchants.

You do not hurt Gecko. However, there should be dialog with the commander of that group.

How can I prevent the Deathclaw Massacre in Vault 13? So Goris does not need to go back to Vault 13 because of it?
 
What are you supposed to do with the large round stone under Cold Hearts Farm? The guide says to "use it to open a passage down to an even lower level with more traps and enemies" but every time I click on it I get a message saying I don't have the strength to move it.

Try using a crowbar
 
Thanks! I'm up to the quest near New Reno to steal Salvatore's guns but I can't find the crate to pick up to complete the quest. I've searched all the containers but can't find the specific one to take to Modoc.
