Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

I've only done one playthrough of V:tM - Bloodlines and I chose Gangrel because Nosferatu and Malkavian seemed to be replay material in my opinion. They may have been less popular due to a similar notion. Most people want to see what the game can offer the most of on the first playthrough. If I replay Bloodlines 1 I'll probably do a Malkavian or Nosferatu because of how different the playstyle would have to be and it would make it more interesting.

Malkavians being in the game will definitely make people pretty happy. Glad to see they're in the base game.
So this means we have: Malkavians, Ventrue, Brujah, Tremere, and Toreador in the base game.

Honestly somewhat disappointed we don't get to see some of the other clans that weren't playable in the first one. Would be really nice if we get to play as a Tzimisce or Lasombra.

That would be pretty neat. Who knows, maybe the DLC will surprise us? Don't get your hopes up though.

I also realized that Malks might not have the dialogue we'd expect them to. It might be just a few times they have different dialogue. Kind of like how New Vegas was with low INT compared to Fallout 1. It was utilized much, but I expect Malks to get a similar but better treatment.

Obfuscate
I wonder if this is being done to make stealth challenging for all playstyles seeing as some points into Obfuscation makes stealth sections cakewalk. Shame there won't be Animalism present but I guess it's the dev's way to avoid making vastly differing animation styles.

Being able to control shadows or shape flesh would be interesting. However, I have a feeling we would not be getting either as DLC clans. I'd say Nosferatu is more likely along with Gangrel.

Note: This was developed in tandem with 5th Edition so:

* Lasombra are now Camarilla
* So are the Assamites
* The US government knows about vampires (and is keeping it under wraps) so there's now hunter teams with military ordinance
* The Brujah and Gangrel have joined the Anarchs as have the Followers of Set

Ah yes, the Second Inquisition. I've heard about that. I gotta say that I do like the idea that vampires are actively hunted now by agencies that seek to destroy them (even if some are more motivated to exploit rather than destroy).

As pointed out in the 1st game, vampires are outnumbered by humans with supremely deadly firearms and what I've read about the Second Inquisition proves it. Plus elders got some nerfs from what I heard.

I do hope to see the 2nd Inquisition play a role in the game even if it is not a major role.

Also, just to clarify, is the 2nd Inquisition just US agencies? I read (from wikis admittedly) that the church and other government agencies around the world are part of it too?

It was initially an alliance of British (who destroyed all the vampires in London with heat-modifications to CCTV cameras), American, French, Israeli, and Russian agencies plus the Society of Leopold.

I.e. the Original Inquisition, still kicking it.

After they destroyed the Tremere Council's Main Chantry, they assumed "Mission Accomplished" and all went home. It's become more complex as they're starting to realize vampires aren't done.

It's implied the Russian SI has since made peace with their vamps in exchange for money and influence.

The Society of Leopold also don't trust the government.

The decline is real. That was one of the key features of the original, but I am not surprised at all.

Unique in the sense that it changes how dialogue is or "unique options" a la Fallout New Vegas?

Yeah and it'll be very disappointing to see that gone in Bloodlines 2. I hope I'm wrong, but I sure as hell don't expect to be.
Brian Mitsoda confirmed Malkavians will have unique dialogue in Bloodlines 2.
Yeah and Todd Howard confirmed 200 endings in Fallout 3. Quit trusting people who are trying to sell you something. Just because salesmen tell you that the purple spray will remove stains from over 100 years ago, doesn't mean it'll work. I'll consider it confirmed when we see proof of it. Just saying they have unique dialogue could literally mean they added a few words on every dialogue option and NPCs respond the exact same for all we know.

I remember watching that.

That's not my point, obviously. I know Mitsoda isn't Todd Howard but I remain doubtful until proven otherwise.

Paradox confirmed gameplay reveal will happen during the PC Gaming Show on June 10th. It was a post on their Discord channel.

I was going to boycott the PC Gaming Show because Epic is sponsoring it this year so they can show off all their moneyhatted PC games. I doubt they had to pay much since PC Gamer, who runs the show, are Epic shills anyway.

Maybe I'll watch someone's stream of the stream, that way my view won't count as a direct view per se. <_<

Looks alright (aside from baseball bat- feels kinda weak). For a few seconds there're dialogue choices (along with some skill checks).
