Vote for your top 5 changes from fallout 3 to new vegas

1.) Better stat customization, i.e., give me back my retarded characters!
2.) Better AI
3.) WAY more clothes, armour, and weapons.
4.) The ability to go through the whole game without having to shoot ANYTHING
5.) A MUCH. BETTER. STORY.

1) Less, but more thought-put equipment. What's the use for 50 armors, if I'll use max. 10 out of them?
2) More damage type\reduction, so it matters what type of ammunition and weapon you use
3) Less combat, more low-level play (please no more tri-beam tesla cannons or other shit, as well as much, MUCH less power armors)
4) more interesting pre-war research\military buildings
5) intelligent humour and a plot that will end up with a cataclysm, which the player cannot stop, but can only prepare a certain community for

I want VB back :( God I wish I could travel to some alternate universe where both VB and Fallout Tactics 2 were done as they should and released by Black Isle/Microforte and that FOBOS and Beth crap were never even conceived.

Other than that I fully trust Obsidian that they will make a spin-off worthy of the original series, story and system wise.

1. Traits

2. More challenging (perks with downsides, more emphasis on stats, more challenging opponents )

3. The story of fallout 3 was a good concept (had a bunch of good plot ideas) it was tied together badly with bad writing (character wise and some quest wise) and a seemed choppy overall I think thats what ruined the plot for people - BRING BACK MORE OF THE OLD BLACK ISLE PEOPLE AT LEAST THE WRITING ASPECT OF IT. SO EVEN IF GAME PLAY IS OBLIVION-ESS WE CAN GET THE SAME FALLOUTY GOODNESS OF THE STORY THAT WE ALL LOVE

4. Variety of voices for characters mean no more one voice fits all like with the ghouls

5. Last but not least I'd love to see two different game modes to be more clear:

Normal mode: Fallout 3 esque play for those of the new generation of the Fallout community

Classic Mode: A mode that plays like the original games for the older members

If they did this I think Fallout fans all over would rejoice and for once not bicker about stupid shit cause we are all Fallout fans at heart and just want to see a good game.

1. Decent Writing
2. Choices and Consequences
3. Consistent character design
4. NEW FACTIONS ( enough with Enclave, BOS and especially SUPERMUTANTS )
5. Darker setting

OK, if better dialogue/storyline are already assumed a priori, then it would be:

1) Actually continue from the world we had when FO2 ends: mainly enclave is decimated, supermutants are now just trying to make a living (they don't war against "normals"), etc.
2) This one won't happen, but I would love race selection (ghoul, SM and normal) with all the implications it would have for attributes, dialogue, story, quests, whatever.
3) Actual NPCs with three dimensional personalities, specially deep companions whose character evolves with you, both in leveling up AND personal story.
4) I want turn based combat (C'mon Obsidian, I'm sure you can hack it into that stupid gamebryo engine.) with targeting back in its full former glory (What's this shit about no melee targeting???) and, of course, none of that VATS crap.
5) Traveling is via world-map with actual random encounters. That should also give them time to model and design good towns/settlements.

And the freebie:

6) Fix those damn awkward and wooden animations! Also bumping into objects shouldn't send them flying in weird directions.

1) better story
2) cars! and not like f2 but like interstate 76/82 cars with road war!
3) new SPECIAL-skill-perk system. with special chosen at the beginning and modified by character condition and implants maybe, skills that rise when you use them and perks would be rly the only thing that comes with level.
4) more realistic combat
5) whole social stuff must be much better so you can even talk your way threw the game.

damn... 5 is not enough... i will just hack the topic and continue.

6) old travel map could be back with outdoorsman skill that determines how big and secret locations you can find.
7) graphics made by artists, not supermutants
8) race selection
9) more low-tech weapons and raiders stuff
10) weather with sand storms and radiation clouds

oh, i think it would be easier to create this world by nuclear war than computer game...

1. A wholly rebalanced skill, SPECIAL and levelling systems.

2. Better writing overall.

3. Classic overland map.

4. C&C

5. NO DLC's/ idiotic addons whatsoever.

6. No BoS or Enclave in a dominant role.

7. sigh... The whole game better balanced.

8. An adult game for adult people.

The best reason a travel map would be essential is because it will eliminate all stupid "random encounters" which makes the wasteland look more populated than a big city a friday night.

Yeah, I like the travel map, but I get a lot of random encounters in Fallout 2 when traveling (sure, its taking days to travel, but theres like at least 2 encounters per square; maybe it's just me).

2 per square?! That's a lot. I get about 4-5 if traveling all across the map in one straight line.

About the same here. I do get the impression that I run into more encounters in and around mountainous areas and less in ruined city squares.

I have no idea how the encounter thingy is programmed, if in mountains there is more or so.

But I know around Hub you will see Hub scouts, around Junktown the Junktown scouts, around Military base the super mutants, around Shady Sands some caravans always heading for S.S, around Necropolis Zombies Scouts (I think they are called that), and at the coastline peasants getting attacked by raiders. Also in the desert between BoS and Military Base you often meet that traveling musician too.

In city squares (not real locations, just the squares with city as background, there is a lot around Boneyard and Necropolis (well DAHH!!!) and one single square in the middle mountain) you will almost always only encounter those gangs in blue jeans. Or some rats.

Well, in fact it is quite easy to change the type of random encounters and the chance of getting them by editing a single text file. But I guess this is a topic for the modding forum.

Anyway, what I'd like to see changed from F3 (I don't mention better dialogue and story, because it's obvious):

1. Less obvious choices, more complex quests, and less black&white morality (one bad guy, one good guy. Kill the bad guy to gain positive karma, kill the good guy to get the negative one). Also quests should have some consequences, not only for single NPCs, but also for the whole town and for PC's relations in other towns, with other people.

2. Larger, more interesting towns with more quests. Plus towns that interact with other towns by trade and politics (like F2). It'd be best if towns changed overtime to reflect your quest choices.

3. More spacious world, with travelling taking longer, but where you can get a car and drive, fighting off gangs, a la Mad Max 2, or Interstate (as someone mentioned already). You should also be able to be hired by a caravan (like original Fallout games), which should be bigger than one brahmin, one guard and one merchant that always gives you his silly shop-talk, or whatever. And you should be able to travel with something like a wasteland taxi (like in Morrowind you could use a boat, or a strider-thing). Oh, and less scorpions and other encounters. It's a wasteland. It should be desolate. Oh, and I DON'T want a F1/F2 world map. In fact, what I always wanted for these games was to wander through the desert and finally see the walls of a city. I once had this feeling playing Morrowind and that was awesome.

4. Less guns, way less ammo, more melee weapons. Less power armour.

5. New factions and new interesting NPCs. No BoS, no Enclave, and above all no Supermutants.

Well, five is indeed too little.

6. More ways of using your skills directly (like hacking computers with science, and lockpicking door). More versatile Repair.

7. More radiation, which would be indicated only by Geiger counter's throbbing, and not with big red flashy letters.

8. Eliminate the tips from the dialogue, which say that your speech is being tested, or that you're using a particular skill, which means automatic success, etc.

9. More explicit sex. I mean, the game's already got the M rating, so why not do things like e.g. in The Witcher? There, when you sleep with somebody, at least you know it.

10. Clothes that you can wear under your armour (like in Morrowind), which depict your social standing and modify people's reaction towards you.

Etc.

I`d like to:
1. Have more weapons, both from original games and F3 (depending on post-war period of time the game is set);
2. Have some descriptions of equipment in inventory like in old Falls;
3. As much from VB as it is only possible :D ;

More realism (This is the big ones for me).
* Not as much weapons, there is a 10mm pistol around every corner! (To balance this a bit the guns should not wear out so damn fast!).
* A need to eat and drink?
* A bigger world, I doesn't need to be filled to the brim (It's post apocalyptica after all), just make it big!
* Less random creatures out there, seriously, how do they survive?
* How come some locks are not possible to pick while some are easy as just pressing "X"?
* More dangerous shit. It's supposed to be really hard to survive after a nuclear war.
* Weather, thanks :) Acid rain, oh yeah!

More danger, again.
"Limited exposure to radiation for a longer period of time sometimes causes humans with an unknown genetic characteristic to transform into ghouls...". I want to, if I'm not careful, to turn into a ghoul. This should affect how the story goes and how people treat my character.

Bigger cities and settlements. In a post apocalyptic world it would be much easier to stick together in big groups, therefore there should be some bigger towns with over 50 people living in them.

More awesome retro-future tech!

No restrictions I want to be able to kill kids and whoever I want (even if it kills the main quest)

I want to, if I'm not careful, to turn into a ghoul.

Turning into a Ghoul is a process that takes years and only happens under special circumstances, most often you die long before the transformation.

Bethesda screwed up with Moira.

Oh, because the Fallout wiki says:
"Limited exposure to radiation for a longer period of time sometimes causes humans with an unknown genetic characteristic to transform into ghouls, although rare cases of faster transformations into ghouls are also not unheard of."
Therefore I though that it was possible that the process could be sped up.
