What Are Your Favorite Movies?

I can't believe none of you didn't say "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" Am I the only one who likes this movie or what?

I don't love them all though. The newer ones suck. I love classics and oldies like The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

BTW, is Dutch closer to English then German?

No, Dutch is closer to German than to English. German and Dutch are very, VERY similar.

That said, there're two official languages being spoken in the Netherlands. Dutch in 12 provinces, and Frisian in Friesland. Frisian is the language with the closest relation to English in the world. I don't really follow it myself, it's a weird language, but still...

Il Buono, il brutto, il cattivo is the Good the Bad and the Ugly. It's an Italian movie, y'know.

Once upon a time in the West is better, it's the true classic, but the Dollar trilogy (For a Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and the Good the Bad and the Ugly) is genius too. Anything by Leone is good, basically.

Duck, you sucker is a great flick by him, welsh would agree, a lot of people missed it.

Akira Kurosawa's western-related samurai flicks are works of art too (Seven Samurai (shichinin no samurai), Rashomon, the Bodyguard (Yojimbo))

I prefer western movies with John Wayne. Clint is good, but if im going to watch a western (and i don't very often) i wanna see the Duke. The Alamo is a badass flick.

The Duke was a fucking homo.

Those pre-spaggheti Westerns lack style

My favorite movies? Here's my top 5 (in no particular order): The Fast and the Furious, Days of Thunder, Office Space, Terminator 2, and Army of Darkness. Yo, she-bitch, let's go!

Clockwork Orange
Apocolypse Now
Heavy Metal
Lock Stock and two smoking Barrels
Dr. Strangelove

German and Dutch are very, VERY similar.
They where both a part of the HRE until they declared independance from Spain in the early 17th Century, correrct. In the Nibelingunlied the Netherlands is reffered to a diffirent part of the same area, like Burgundy or Worms, which also feature prominently.
Why is Frisian so close? I would figure that the Humburg area would be closest with the Saxons coming from there.

PM the movie titles to me.

BTW, am playing Silent Hunter 2. Great game, I would recomenned it if only for the interview with Erich Topp, a Sub Commander and admiral. I really feel for the Kriegsmarine. Once again, the Germans where thinking to far ahead of thier time. Hitler's obsession with all things super, being it super naval technology, super wepons, supermen and super urine flowing into his mouth. Really pathetic.

Hot Shots!: Part Duex if the best comedy out there. The first one was pretty funny too, but the sequel pawns all! After Saddam was captured, I watched that movie everytime I got a chance to.

Funniest movie ever is "Kung-Pow" hands down!

Best scene in any movie is where the evil ninja guy of doom throws the smoke bomb and nothing happens...I cry for this!

No, it wasn't. Kung-Pow was horrible, the dubbed voices killed me and it wasn't even funny.

"Ohh Betty, look at me!"
WTF!!! It sucked.

Ah man, to me that is funny as hell! I've never cried so much in my life, hell I didn't even cry that much when I kill my mothe........I'm innocent!!

Mohrg

No, it was not funny. All the stuff in that movie was sooo childish. Sure, a 5-10 year old would probably have loved it, but horrible movie? Yes.

I admit it, I am 8 and 3/4 which is why I still think it is the funniest movie ever. :P

No, Holland is older than that. Parts of Holland have been a part of the Holy Roman Empire, yes, but a lot of it's also been independant dukedoms forever (Utrecht, Holland and Zeeland in particular)

No idea, it just is.

As for Kung Pow: That movie is funny. Not a comedy classic, but damn funny nonetheless. I don't like the nerd following surrounding it, but I'd never heard of the movie when I first saw it. Tabula rasa, my friend, tabula rasa.

Top most memorable movies in no particular order.

Aliens
Terminator 2
Gladiator
Matrix
Predator
Original Star Wars
Heavy Metal
All Indiana Jones
Castle of Cagliostro

I watched Akira when I was 10 and put a label on it (watch when 21). I couldn't understand what was going on. Hopefully it was because I didn't read the original additional stuff.
